Has anybody played this would like to know what its like compared to the likes of warhammer historical and hail ceasar??
-
the ony thing about these rules ive heard thats iffy is i charge you ,i fight a round of combat but you can do nothing...i can follow up fight again ,you do nothing and rout and destroy you. A stupid rule if you ask me....id stick to hail ceaser

Anything else on these? I can't find a review anywhere, just a read through which doesn't tell me anything other than the pre-battle sequence looks interesting.

I have a set and the pre-battle stuff looks really interesting, but I haven't played them yet as I've too many other 'new to me' rules on the go at the moment lol

Skirmish level and written by a proven rules writer Dan Mersey. I'm very much looking forwards to them as Dan has hinted that he may be adding rules for the Wars of the Roses/Late C15th to his blog for free.

This sounds really interesting; I am looking out for a solid ruleset for feudal medieval skirmish-to-small-battles games. Just invested in a lot of plastic from Fireforge, and the critters should get done and see some table-top action instead of adding to the hoard... ;)
Simple easy-to-learn mechanics, minimum record-keeping (and use of counters), and fast, are the most important factors to me.
