Title: An Afghan Walled Village
Post by: NickNascati on 16 April 2014, 10:30:53 PM
All,
I made this today in about 4 hours from start to finish.  It could I think be used for Colonial or Modern Afghanistan, Africa (as a well built Tembe), or even the SW United States.  I tried to copy and paste the photos here, but Flickr wasn't cooperating!

Does anyone in the know know when the Afghans started to build buildings of this type?

I wonder if they were present during the Second Afghan War?

Darrell.

A Google search didn't turn up anything one way or the other, so maybe put it up to "Poetic" License?  I wonder if any of the travel books from the period give detailed descriptions?

One would think there would be mention of some of the architecture in military journals from the time- does anyone know of a good source?

Darrell.
