How are you supposed to choose between these :o :o :o :o
-
This is going to be so hard these two entries are brilliant
What to choose
Have to say that lioness is amazing - best I have ever seen painted, so lifelike
Then all of the miniatures are superbly painted
-
Yeah, I looked at the first entry and thought, "This will be an easy choice", and then I looked at the second entry and did a double take. Both are sooooo good.
-
My goodness :o
I looked at the first entry and thought - that's the Prof. Then I looked at the second entry and thought, these are the wrong way round. Then I realised Matt's got the hex bases for Blood On The Sands, so yes, they must be his! Both incredibly similar in so many respects, it's almost impossible to slide a fag paper between them...
-
An impossible choice! So unfair!
-
Tough choice.
Who makes the War elephant and who makes the lioness?
-
Too tough to contemplate, I'll vote tomorrow o_o
-
How's that goat still alive?! ;)
Joao

How's that goat still alive?!
It's a Monty Hall lion. It switched.
-
These are both simply superb, arggh so had to pick one. o_o
-
Who makes the War elephant
It's from Aventine, just as all the Romans in the entry.
-
The lion is my favorite for the whole rounds!
-
Toughest decision so far. maybe we should offer the option if half each!

Fantastic entry Prof. Still living up to your reputation as the 'Cecil B. Demille of miniature scenes' :)
Who makes the War elephant and who makes the lioness?
The lioness is a Ral Partha figure. The guys on the ground are all Aventine with WGF shields, the guy on top is a Crusader spectator. The goat is Foundry :)
How's that goat still alive?! ;)
They're supposed to represent members of the North African Telegenii cartel, who captured and bred animals to send to Roman arenas. According to my research this was one of their methods, I figure this lioness knew something was amiss before she got into the cage :)
-
This is honestly the closest comparison I have ever seen...
How lucky we are to see both artists work here!!
I'm going to have to wait until a third look to decide.
Amazing both!
-
What a Leo What a Nelly!
-
Big ditto with everyone, that both are excellent. Wish the voting was with points 1-10 so could give each a 10. All things being equal I vote for the dog, or in this case the lion :) Also the uniqueness of the hunting scene.
-
All things being equal I vote for the dog
I think I'll vote for the pig then. lol
-
Both excellent entries. You've both outdone yourselves gents! Good luck!

-
both stunning...I love the narrative with the lioness scene, and I love the details on the elephant et al. LPL at its best! :-*
-
Both excellent entries but for me the lioness won it over the elephants.
-
Arrrggh …again two masterpieces. The lion is fantastic …as is the elephant. :o :-*
-
Too difficult to choose.
Where is the cage from?
-
Where is the cage from?
It's a scratch build. Balsa wood and the 'metal' bits are styrene plastic. I imbedded a couple small magnets so that it can be open or closed.
-
I'm pulling for you Matt but the outcome of this one doesn't look good! I too love the look of the lion. I had to look twice to see the goat in the cage. I thought they were releasing the lion myself. Awesome job just very tuff pairing this time!
-
I thought they were releasing the lion myself.
I agree, the staging isn't quite right.
Between Bugsda and the Prof, I'm likely out of the running this year. I haven't even been 'Franked' yet :)
-
I agree, the staging isn't quite right.
I saw it as the lioness backing into the cage against her will... Having realized the goat was a ruse.
As for being out of the running... it's impossible to say. But what I can say is that I was fortunate not to have been matched up against either of you this round! :)
Thanks

Thanks, Matt! Actually I'm quite surprised at the voting, I didn't expect to perform that good because of your high-class brilliant movie-like scene. Also love to see some well painted Spartacus revolt figures, very inspiring!
