Title: need help ID'ing this non metal figure
Post by: lostshakerassault on April 21, 2014, 10:50:42 PM
Hi All,
So I found this figure on the ground at work one day and I have been trying to figure out what it's from. To me, it looks like a freighter captain or such. Someone suggested a game but I can't find anything that looks like this. Any help?

Thanks
Morgan

It looks like a copy of a 1/32 scale Matchbox 8th Army officer figure. He's wearing a sleeveless jerkin, hence the freighter captain look.

IIRC they were originally in tan/beige plastic but the poses were copied quite a bit.

..takes me back...... ;D

I thought that but wasn't it a sheepskin? Good call though  :)

Good Call! That appears to be it. I never would have suspected that for a jerkin. It just looks like a jacket to me.

Thanks!

This is the sort of thing I always thought he wore -

Looks like the originals were indeed supposed to be all beige, but Chinese copies are still in production, and it wouldn't be surprising to find some in green. See this link and scroll down for the clones section... http://alejandro40.blogspot.fi/2012/06/matchbox-132-scale.html

(Would also explain the quality, which looks quite awful to me.)
