Title: Māori attack on the homestead
Post by: Arteis on 22 April 2014, 08:57:12 AM
I've posted a short article and a few photos on my blog, depicting some Empress Miniatures' 28mm New Zealand Wars figures attacking the Perry Miniatures farmhouse:

Nice work. Are the cabbage trees made out of teased flax? They look cool.

No, they're paper kits by a small New Zealand company called Right Track.

However, what a good idea to use teased-out flax leaves.  That might actually work.  I might have to try that out some time.  Imagine - flax plants made from real flax leaves!

The colour of the building is perfect.  This is the Cameron Blockhouse (built during the land wars and restored some years ago) from just down the road from me.

lol I'll be keen to see it if you give it a go. In fact I have a bunch of flax. I may just give it a go myself.

They're tī kōuka or cabbage trees (Cordyline australis), James.  Here are three real specimens right outside my front door!
