Title: Painting Block Defeated?
Post by: elysium64 on April 22, 2014, 09:25:46 AM
Yesterday I started and finished my first model in over 8 months, the lovely "Son of Flashman" from Empress, really pleased with how he turned out.
Sorry no photo's yet but I just had to announce these momentous event.
I will take photo's at weekend as need to get new power cable for camera, hopefully may have painted a couple more by then.
I have no need to buy any more figures as I have several projects to work on, these include the aforementioned Empress NW Frontier, 10-12 figs for a small skirmish game based on VURT (by Jeff Noon), A couple of Warzone Resurrection armies (already started on the Imperials), and a Conan project, plus lots more in the lead pile. Happy to have a few different projects so I can do bits of others to break up any monotony.
Hopefullly I will become an Active member again soon, look out for new project threads soon.......

Well done, mate.
Looking forward to the piccies.
 :D

Sometimes that is all it takes, just the right figure to kick you off.

Oh, and you can add a cowboy posse to that list of yours too.
 ;)

Good to hear. Time to ease back in bit by bit.

I used to suffer bouts of 'painters block' and have found that blogging and now having self-imposed reasonable yearly targets (therefore continuous) for painting has actually helped. Also, I find painting something simple when I haven't painted in a while helps act as a 'kick-start' of sorts.

Mountain men are fine.

As for the 'Fur Trader': That has been gazumped and is already on the list as 'Someone Else'.

You are one of only two 'inhabitants' that I had serious trouble with, but I am almost settled on your alter ego.
Tell the truth, it has just dawned on me as I write this.

30 different characters based on usernames has not been easy, I can tell ya.

I wish I could beat mine. The upturn in the economy has the downside that I just don't have the enthusiasm for painting in the evening as I am knackered. Must try harder as I am sure it will help with that as well.
