Title: Judge Dredd stuff
Post by: spevna on 23 April 2014, 02:22:44 AM
I picked up a couple of boxes of the old Mega City One street gang minis.

While not the best sculpts, they are rather fun to paint.

I also built some junkyard piles to go with my shanty town board.

Great stuff! What blok are they from and what's the gang name? :)

My suggestion is 'Spiro Agnew Block Blue Bombers'

Very nice. May I ask how you did the lettering on the bases? Very smooth!

Cheers :)

I typed them in a white font with a black background on Excel. Printed them at font size 7, trimmed them, glued them on, painted the rim of the base and around the letters with black, and then went over it with gloss.

Bugger doing that by hand ;)

Great work!

I have a couple of boxes of those myself, but I've been putting off painting them because I didn't think they'd come up nice. You've proven me wrong, these figures can be lookers...

one issue you are going to have with playing JDMG is there are so many SMG's in the gang. Draw up a gang list and you will see what I mean.

I think I may have missed something  ???

I'm running this gang as;

9 punks (1 upgraded to a hero)
4 spit guns
4 stump guns
1 double barreled stump gun

That sees me at 485 points.

Stump gun?

Obviously I don't play this genre/rules but that name is tantalizingly slum sounding.

Gracias,

Well I did pick up three boxes of them a while back so I have more than enough minis to try out lots of varieties  :D

Yep, no armour. I am expecting them to gett the snot smashed out of them but I'm hoping that numbers will go some way towards balancing it out.

I played two games last month and we found numbers to make a big difference against judges.

The next game is this Sunday so check back in on Monday and hopefully I will have some kind of battle report for you.

make a screen with the guys using the shotguns and use the spit guns as medium range fire support. It will come down to how many you can vape with those spit guns. Dont forget the lack of armour means most of them will be one shot kills for your opponent and if you are not careful/lucky you will lose enough guys to force a gang morale check pretty early on.

I will keep that in mind. Cheers :)

Got in a game of Judge Dredd today.

One of many small trading posts and shanty towns that has sprung up amongst the ruins of Mega City one after an East Meg invasion.

A force of East Meg judges was sent in to mop up anyone that was left fighting.

Judges and Punks put aside their difference to band together and put up a united front.

The judges were hiding out in the large building in the centre, trying to avoid the big nasty sentinoid. My boys were coming to their aid.

Before I could get there, the judges plucked up the courage to take it on!

My lads were left to take out the pesky commie judges!

My lads got there in time to lend a hand, but poor Cadet Bunny was gunned down by a cowardly commie!!

All in all, an excellent day of gaming.

Great work.

Thanks muchly.

Yaeah, I was not very sure about those minis when I took them out of the box, but they do paint up very nicely and very quickly.

I'm running them as just a regular gang though. Not city def.

My mate was a bit disappointed with hi sentinoid. It's so big and scary, but attracted a lot of fire and went down pretty fast.

Easy. Use the stats for a Steet Judge as Wulf and Senior Street Judge for Johnny. And tweak the Talents incl one for Da Happy Stick ..  :D

Really good wowk there.

You've just answered my questions at to whether I should keep the Heroclix bases on my Dark Judges ans give them a paint job  :)

If you've not got all your minis on clix bases then I'd say cut em off and match em up.
