Title: Electrostatic Burst Generator
Post by: Conquistador on 28 April 2014, 05:26:24 PM
Do any of you have this piece of Equipment as an element used by one of your team members?

It certainly is intriguing but since most Companies seem to prefer an arc pistol/carbine/rifle/cannon as a weapon and probzbly because this weird science item is A) indiscriminate and B) possibly damaging to an Arc Generator I don't remember it being in any of the standard teams.

When I received my Rowena Von Graaf figure from Reaper  to Join my Jane Badall Company something clicked in my head when I was looking at what work would be needed to prep her and the words "Electrostatic Burst Generator Pistol" went down on my notes.  I had thought of equipping her with an Arc Pistol but Jane Badall has one of those (and I see Rowena as potentially starting a rival team possibly.)  Other than "defensive-offensive systems"  for a fixed location I am trying to find a way to integrate the Electrostatic Burst Generator (aka EBG from now on) as a deployable weapon in a Company.    You don't want to knock out your own team members during a conflict so how do you protect people from the radius of an EBG?  Faraday Coat/shield?  Magneto-static Waistcoat/umbrella/projection barrier?

Gracias,

Glenn

The defence against EBG would be a Faraday coat.

An improvised shield would be the so called Faraday cage, i.e. a bird cage (connected to earth) large enough to contain one or few models. Also coached made of Metal may also protect its passengers, they modern cars protect their passengers from lightnings duringa storm!

I've used an EBG once. I allocated it to a very fast member of the company wearing a Faraday coat who ran into a position between us and THEM! Unfortunately, the rules on its effect are subject to interpretation. Our players decided one die should be rolled for its attack on all figures within range. As I rolled a two, that meant it was a dud and a half.

Give someone an EBG, and the Edison teleporter (can't think of the name right now). Teleport into the middle of enemy force, press button, enjoy fall out :)
