Just got round to taking some photos of my scratch built dark age farm for my 15mm/18mm fantasy games.
Its mainly out of card, modeling plaster, sand and teddy bear fur.
Ploughed field is from the inside layer of a pizza box with fine sand glued on and painted.
Trees are mostly from China :-)
I have also made a little hobbit village and have posted pics of that on the forum fantasy section- http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=66405.0

Wow, that is fantastic looking. Just begging to be plundered!

Great stuff, even better when I realised it was 15mm. Has a lot more details than some 28mm terrain I've seen

This.
I was looking at the pictures first, as usual, thinking to myself that it was a job well done and then I noticed the bit about 15mmmmmmm....
So, in that case:
Wonderfully well done, sir!

Lovely :-* :-* very naturalistic.

Impressive, I love it!

It's nice to see someone build a farmstead with fields, just sets the story ,and improves the gameplay and life of a model. The effort show's in every photograph.keep it up and you'll have a show stopping table, and a cash cow for when you wan't a change .a labour of love, done well.
-
AWESOME. This is one of the best Dark Age terrain pieces on the net! Great work!
Really a great example to get inspired. Thanx for sharing.

Actually there was nothing really challenging in building it. It is mainly simple tricks and tips you learn over the years from friends or from the net and just spending a bit more time on extra detail (log piles, sacks etc.) that its a bit more realistic.

Thats the trick,Story telling through the detail, with out it you have nothing but a group of buildings no matter how much effort you've put in. Its this that lets down so many display games, you take a brief look then walk on by,
A game with stories in its set up is the one with people around it,and its the game you'll play over and again.
