Found this cool page and thought it might interest the people that post here. My personal favourites are the Hashima Island, Japan (number 14), Abandoned Power Plant - Belgium (number 21) it is straight out of an Aliens movie, the El Hotel del Salto - Colombia (number 35) and for the extra creepy Christ of the Abyss - San Fruttuoso, Italy (number 36).

Some wonderful inspirational photos.
Mod edit: I've modified the title as the subject matter has widened. :)

I love these sort of articles - one that really amazes me is this:
https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=bell+labs+building&es_sm=122&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=G3FmU7zsEpTN7AbG_oD4CQ&ved=0CEEQsAQ&biw=1280&bih=923
A google search, simply because there are so many cool images about the places of such a great stylised building.

I want a mini of her... WITH the geiger counter!
"The roads are blocked for cars, but not for motorcycles. Good girls go to heaven. Bad ones go to hell. And girls on fast bikes go anywhere they want."

The Hotel Salto de Tequendama isn't actually abandoned and is no longer a hotel. It was converted into a museum a couple of years ago.
There's a somewhat spooky abandoned hotel sitting in the middle of the Tijuca National Park in Rio that you can see from the cog railway on the way up Corcovado. The Hotel das Paneiras was built whilst Brazil still had an Emperor. It's been closed for decades but now they are planning to restore it, which has been fairly controversial as it's slap bang in the middle of a national park.
Some pics here: http://www.lugaresesquecidos.com.br/2012/04/hotel-das-paineiras-rio-de-janeiro.html

Yeah agreed, Bike Girl was a very enjoyable read.
What would the state of nature be do you think in a Nuklear Post apocalypse?
Fallout has very little in the way of living vegetation (fallout 3 had the Druids/oak) And I would imagine a desert wasteland, would trees make a come back you think?
Cheers

Stumbled on some photos from Centralia - an underground coal fire has been burning for 50 years.
Never heard of the place, but great for some terrain ideas:
