What colour did you use for the red rust wash used on the first car?

Wow  :-*

That is really very nice.

I have the Sloppy Jalopy model of the same vehicle. Yours looks far superior in several ways. For one thing, the armour in the 'armoured car' looks like serious armour plating, whilst underneath, it actually looks like a car.
Marvellous.
Sorely tempted...  ::)

The colour mix I use to do rust is not a pre made colour.
The base colour mix is 3parts orange to 1 part chocolate brown.(leather brown works well on paler greens).
A second shade of 1 part red to1 part black is then applied in corners and around doors and hatches.I apply rust instead of shading lines and the odd high light of neat silver helps the rust effect look more rust like.
I hope that helps.

Just to tempt you some more mr blood .These models are raw castings,the mud guards have been designed so they can be re shaped with a hair dryer,or left as they come.The turrets are made with a 'U'shaped metal hatch plate,which can be placed to open to the left or the right.
These two design features have added to allow you to get several varriants from one kit with out adding or removing parts,
It means you can make a car look more like a russian reworked car,or a car straight off the boat.It also means no one will have same Austin as you.
The photographs don' t clearly show it but the vehicles come with a drivers head and shoulders.(if you look in the freeish vehicles offer there are a couple of pictures which show the driver in the 1918).

If your interested the weathered highlights are achived by highlighting with khaki(works best on olive drab or similar greens and browns)
Then over the khaki about halfway along the length of the strip of colour add a neat pink/tanned flesh,then about 2/3rds down the pink add a pale yellow.if you lines are on the edges of your model theres no need to blend as your eyes will do that naturally.
This pink and yellow works well on grey' s and sands with out the khaki base,you can add an almost white touch to the middle of the yellow when appling to sands and greys.
Hope this helpd witb weathering and ageing you vehicles.Well works for me anyway :D
