Title: Ebay always "Amazes" me...
Post by: Conquistador on 04 May 2014, 01:55:37 PM
This seller is sure that his Jane and Tarzan is not available for retail purchase:

VERY RARE 25mm WARGAMES FOUNDRY TARZAN & JANE
Item number:141270979415

When I wrote an e-mail to him asking if he would re-list if this didn't sell (as it hasn't yet after multiple times,) so I could id on it next Friday (pay day) and casually mentioned it is rare as a pair but hardly rare or OOP...

Dear zorrog,

The Tarzan and Jane are rare they were given to you if you bought a lot of items from foundry they were never made for retail what other figs are you talking about

- <snip seller id>

Paraphrasing, I said go to: http://www.wargamesfoundry.com/our-ranges/darkest-africa/explorers and look at the third figure from the left in DA011 and third figure on the right in DA016.  I bought the former set in April, 2014, and have all the figures from the second set collected individually or in small lots from Ebay/friends.  I think they are the same figures as in the Ebay auction.

They are easily available from foundry in retail, what is rare is having them as a pair without having to buy two sets.  So they are technically rare without all the other figures in the sets, which is why I am attracted to buying them...  they would be nice alternate figures equipped with spears and/or reatas.

So, are the two figures the same as the ones in the Foundry sets?  I have them in my IHMN Companies and they look like the ones on the Ebay auction.  Are they the same in your opinion?

Gracias,

Glenn

Good Point!  I noted that after my Ebay e-mail to him, (of course,  ::) never fails,) but I am not sure that isn't a normal variation or the angle of the picture.

I don't mind being wrong and I do want another "Foundary" 'Jane' to become a blonde Sheena since my spare 'Jane' is painted a brown skinned brunette (yes, Coffee colored hair, brown eyes, and olive skin tones are a personal weakness of mine - wife, Canadian born, has the first two - and is the most beautiful woman in the world IMO, as it should be,) and I want a blond, caucasian stereotype Sheena to go with her fraternal twin.

Maybe he has the pre-retail version indeed...

Gracias,

Glenn

EDIT: Her hair is silver now but her mom had a picture of her (younger) with a guitar and she looked very Joan Baez looking.

Quite improper for LAF aside, why is it (Baez, Ronstadt,) that the women who sing/sang so attractively when I was younger had such daft leftist politics?

Because they cared... unlike the daft right wingers who only care that they are allowed to carry guns on school buses :P

Well played.   ;D   lol

Guilty of the 'carry' thing (even on school buses) but also care about people and justice.   ;)   8)
