Title: Storming Gibraltar 1704 - was anyone there?
Post by: Bezzo on 11 May 2014, 05:44:15 PM
I am trying to track down details of a wargame of the Anglo-Dutch seaborne assault on Gibraltar from a few years ago. The terrain was vast and hugely impressive and there were at least 9 detailed sailing ships on the table. Along with a nicely modelled town and the Rock itself which looks about 3 feet high. There were loads of boats filled with troops and it just looked stunning.

I have a few clues which I hope will help jog someone's memory

The couple of photos I have would seem to show it was 15mm - but I am not certain.
There is a PAW coffee mug in one shot
The large room has some crossed claymore style swords on the wall (mounted on black background)
I am sure they belong to Cross Swords in Ivybridge - but the wording is missing.
The game appears to be labelled "Storming Gibraltar" but the whole label is cropped in the photo.

The swords referred to above are 2 sets of this banner....

Anyone know this? It must have taken a colossal amount of work but Google searches have failed me so far.

Vaguely remember it.
Was it Leeds or one of the Stockton shows?
