Just been to Lidl in Wokingham... They are selling rubber backed artificial grass in 1m x 2m rolls for £5.99. the grain is no greater that the Citadel rolls, on paper...
-
Looks like you bought a few!
:o

I think that's the store display ;D

Oooh!
Artistic.

I just saw these and thought the same thing. They material looks like it would take a bit of drybrushing too. That would help break up the singular tone.
-
I thought it would take some bashing about too, cutting back for roads too.
Ive no room for it but thought some might fins some space at that price.
-
Going to pop in to my local, dutch, lidl to see if they have this as well.

I did think about getting one and gluing it to the base of my 6x4" folding board so that I can use it without terrain tiles.

I saw these in Harald Nyborg (Danish discount DIY chain) couple of weeks ago and thought the same.
-
Unfortunately the shops in Nottingham didn't have any.
-
I bought a couple from Aldi a couple of weeks ago. I like it...it's more mottled that it looks in the photo. Also it was £5.99 in Aldi!

Presumably they're now taking up space in the Big Building In Lenton.

Doubtful, last time I was in there (admittedly some time ago) they had got rid of any interesting boards that weren't the moulded plastic things they sell.

Anybody bought this and can make an "in action" pic with some minis on it?
I saw them in the shop too but thought the surface was too rough. Also I think you won't find any grass or flock of the same kind, so you can't make additional terrain pieces or base your minis in a fitting color. On the other hand, for some garden warfare in the summer those heavier mats would be useful!
-
I picked up some similar mats a while ago in a Belgian action store probably around €4,00 a piece. I have them currently laying on my table if somebody is interested in seeing them I can take some pictures.
-
Yes please! Some close ups with minis on it would be very nice!

As requested some pictures of the mat with a miniature and terrain. I really like the mat as it can easily be cleaned with a vaccuum cleaner after you have used sand/ loose flock/ ...

Interesting, the one I picked up has half round bobbles all over the back to stop it slipping...
-
Thank you very much for the pictures, looks good!
The one I saw at Lidl (in Germany -> still on their website (http://www.lidl.de/de/florabest-rasenteppich-100-x-200-cm/p42954)) had also a backing of small bobbles. The green side looked the same though.

I'll bet if you left it lay out in the sunlight it would get a somewhat irregular fade pattern.
