I just started digging out some random fantasy minis to paint up for use in the Otherworld skirmish game, mordheim, and war hammer quest. Going for speed here so i can actually play something with painted minis. Sorry pics are bad i only have my iPhone right now.
First up are some old heartbreaker Kev Adams orcs

Lookin' lovely to me. Great paintjob. I was just looking at some D&D dungeon tiles I have...and started pondering printing up some cards for using them with Warhammer Quest... lol
-
Was thinking of doing the same thing. The war hammer quest doors fit on them pretty good they just don't have the black border.
Here are some reaper gargoyles i finished recently

-
Despite the speed painting caveat, the Orcs & Gargoyles look SPLENDID, although now I wonder how cool they'd look if you took your time. That aside, VERY WELL DONE!
-
@DeafNala Sadly if i took my time most of them would still be bare metal or half painted.
Knocked out these 2 Otherworld shades last night.

-
I can identify with the "speed or unpainted" syndrome. With moi, it's more of a "good enough" condition. That aside, the Shades look WONDERFUL; your color choices & brushwork look TERRIFIC...gives me some ideas for my own unpainted ones. VERY WELL DONE!
-
Thanks! Really trying to stick to a limited amount of colors and consistent basing style. It seems to help hide the size and sculpting differences on my random selection of minis
-
Great shading on your shades! The pink tongue is a neat touch on the gargoyles. And Kev Adams orcs, how can you not have fun with those?
I think your plan to have the color palette minimal & the basing the same has worked to form a cohesive gang.
Thanks for sharing, and keep 'em coming!

Thanks!
Next up we have 3 Rebel adventurers and 2 citadel/marauder Dwarfs

Lovely work...workin' far faster than me! lol
-
Yeah I think im moving along pretty good. I'm actually opening blisters as I get them and painting instead of storing them away ha ha
-
There are few thing as satisfying as being on a production roll with the minis; agonizing over colors & such is SO counter productive. AND the end results look TERRIFIC. I love the colors you chose for the Holy Guy. VERY WELL DONE once more!
-
Just finished up these 3 old Marauder trolls. These guys are still my favorite troll minis. Has anyone seen the Artizan Design trolls. Im curious if they would size up well with these guys.

-
Your figures are really nicely painted. They should be a lot of fun when in use on your gaming table. Thanks for sharing.

Three SPLENDID Old Trolls that I haven't seen before...I couldn't possibly have forgotten such expressive faces. WONDERFUL minis with matching paint jobs & bases...VERY WELL DONE!
-
The trolls are fantastic. Really nice paint jobs all around. I love those old Marauder monster miniatures.
-
Excellent work. Why are the orcs known as 'heartbreaker'?
-
Heartbreaker was the company that originally made them. Now you can get them from ral partha
-
Ive finally gotten around to taking pics of what I've been working on the last few weeks.
First up are a group of heartbreaker orcs and crooked claw goblins
(http://i1288.photobucket.com/albums/b481/deathjester1979/IMG_0040_zps90c72b36.jpg) (http://s1288.photobucket.com/user/deathjester1979/media/IMG_0040_zps90c72b36.jpg.html)
I also did these GW ghouls I've had laying around for awhile

OH BABY! Now THAT is something to look forward to; especially if your Other World Folk are as WONDERFULLY painted as the Goblin & Ghoul Guys...VERY WELL DONE they are!
-
Excellent work on them all!
-
Thanks for all the positive feedback. It really helps me grind through all these minis
-
I just received my dungeon tile order from dxContent. Ill probably give them some extra dry brushing and washes but the look pretty good as they came.

That´s a real great project.
Love your painting style, very unique!
Cheers
Alex
-
This is the kind of project I'd love to do. Really like the flesh colours you've used on the orcs and trolls.
-
Thanks! Haven't updated this in awhile. Been working on a unit of Marauder orcs which should be done soon.
-
Since i plan on attending oldhammer in the new world in october i figured id start showing the progress of my orc army. Ive actually never played 3rd edition so I'm kinda just painting up stuff that looks fun right now. Sorry for the bad pics ill try to get better ones as units get finished.
This here is what i plan to take along. Missing is the general. Not sure what I'm using yet

Close up of the main orc unit. Love these guys!

And here is the leadbelcher
(http://i1288.photobucket.com/albums/b481/deathjester1979/IMG_0073_zps0766934c.jpg) (http://s1288.photobucket.com/user/deathjester1979/media/IMG_0073_zps0766934c.jpg.html)

Very interesting to see this army in progress. Of all the excellent miniatures above, the greenskins seem to standout somehow. Your painting and basing style seems to work perfectly for them.
-
Really like what you have done, the painting is excellent!
-
Very good work. I am HUGELY jealous!!
-
Thanks guys. It's been a lot of fun collecting and painting old orcs. They seem to work great with my painting style. There mean and gritty but have a sense of humor too.
-
Some great painting here 8) 8)
cheers
James
-
Great project! Gotta love the old Orcs and your brushwork is mighty fine :-*
Need to check those dungeon tiles, they would be rather good for Dungeon Bowl, me thinks.
-
Looking good so far mate :)
-
@pocoloco yeah definitely check out those tiles. They are easy to store and can take a beating. I think they will look a lot better when I get around to adding some extra color.
-
Well i managed to totally finish this unit of orcs off. Next ill finish basing the trolls and lead belcher. Ill probably start busting out Harboths orc archers after that.
(http://i1288.photobucket.com/albums/b481/deathjester1979/IMG_0086_zpsa91239ac.jpg) (http://s1288.photobucket.com/user/deathjester1979/media/IMG_0086_zpsa91239ac.jpg.html)
-
By far my favourite Orcs ever made :) and you done them justice.
-
The Green Lads look SPLENDID...a BEAUTIFUL paint job & abundant personality do wonders with minis. VERY WELL DONE!
-
Wow really love them all!
-
Black base-edges <3 Great stuff! I lov epretty much everything about the unit.
Would you mind sharing the base formula? I am just curious, as I find that I do not know nearly enough different ways of painting my bases, and tend to always default to the same Brown->Ochre->Bone progression. Yours look really great.
-
Great work.
I'd love to know how you texture your bases as well.
-
The bases were done with Vallejo dark earth textured paint. They then got drybrushed with army painter fur brown and desert yellow. After that a Vallejo flesh wash followed by another AP desert yellow drybrush
-
Great work in this thread :)
-
Its been over a year since I've updated this thread. I decided id start taking pics of what I've been working on since then. Ill start off with my oldhammer orc army that I've been working on for awhile.
First up is Harboths orc archers
(http://i1288.photobucket.com/albums/b481/deathjester1979/776efd43-f605-43f6-9cac-2d5f0de3ad24_zpsdftzlpep.jpg) (http://s1288.photobucket.com/user/deathjester1979/media/776efd43-f605-43f6-9cac-2d5f0de3ad24_zpsdftzlpep.jpg.html)
Next are a unit of marauder orcs
(http://i1288.photobucket.com/albums/b481/deathjester1979/IMG_0116202_zpsio8ywchr.jpg) (http://s1288.photobucket.com/user/deathjester1979/media/IMG_0116202_zpsio8ywchr.jpg.html)
and finally harlequin/heartbreaker orcs I'm using as black orcs
(http://i1288.photobucket.com/albums/b481/deathjester1979/f6b76ddf-ac07-49c1-9dc5-146e87d95673_zpswmhejuhu.jpg) (http://s1288.photobucket.com/user/deathjester1979/media/f6b76ddf-ac07-49c1-9dc5-146e87d95673_zpswmhejuhu.jpg.html)
-
The orcs look great
-
And looking back in your thread I saw the rebel miniatures figures, never seen them before, but just checked their website, the adventurer range looks great, definitely buying some of them
-
Yeah the rebel minis 28mm range is pretty good. They have some goblins now that are tempting
-
These are fantastic!
-
Amazing greenskins, but it's the bases that really male them pop :)
-
You've done some OUTSTANDING WORK on some WONDERFUL Old Minis.
...it's the bases that really male them pop :)
I agree...the mushrooms are a nice touch. VERY WELL DONE indeed!
-
The ladz look great! Terrific! I have never noticed the shield with the dwarf face nailed to it -awesome. Where did that come from? Must have.
cheers-
red
-
Great stuff :)
cheers
James

@ Rednorseman. That is a shield from crooked claw miniatures
