EDIT: I got the Imperial Noble miniature shown, so I dont require further advice on this now. Thanks for looking.
Im looking for a 28mm miniature to represent a Ramirez type character. My miniature tendencies are sci-fi, so I dont have much of a knowledge of the types of things available that are suited, but I thought that someone here might be able to help.
The first thing that popped into my head was the old WHQ Imperial Noble, but I am sure that there are less expensive, more readily available options out there.
Any takers?

Someone does an actual not-Ramirez somewhere, but I forgot who it was.

Found it, it's Freebooter miniatures:

Thanks WK. I have heard that miniature is 35mm though, which is a bit too tall for me (and I try not to bee too fussy about that sort of thing). It does look pretty perfect other than that though (although I dont think that I would have the patience to paint those peacock feathers like that).
I located an Imperial Noble since I wrote the post anyway and the retro GWness of that sculpt gives it added value to me, so thats the route I will take now I think. Thanks for your help though :)

To be honest, I'd pick the GW one over the Freebooter one regardless, it's close enough and oozes character. :)

Its very close to the Ramirez look and while it was released in 95, which is too late for some GW purists, I have always enjoyed the look of that figure, even though I didnt paint or collect fantasy stuff.
I plan to sci-fi-him-up a bit, grimdark him a little, but I wont do anything that disrupts that amusing, jaunty and cocksure look: thats the figures appeal.

lol
Despite how poorly the original Highlander has dated, I still went with something inspired by the Ramirez look as defined in the original movie as its the most recognisable Ramirez look.
After some very minor conversion work to make the character (very) vaguely sci-fi, I have nearly finished painting. Hopefully I should be able to put up pictures of the completed model in my 28mm Inquistor themed skirmish thread (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=54622.0) this weekend.
EDIT: the finished Space Ramirez is HERE (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=54622.msg816008#msg816008).

Can you point me towards the GW one? Picture perhaps? I am looking for one as well and am curious...

The GW one is the WHQ one shown on the original post.

Thx!

I really like the Freebooter's Fate model, but I can't bring myself to order it from Germany. I don't need it...but I *want* it...argh.
Anyone found a suitable Kurgan with skull armour to go with him?
