At the end of last year Pendraken did a not-Kickstarter to fund a new range of Mongols. I went in for at least 1 of all the codes!
I've been painting some of them up over the last few weeks, and these are my first 10 bases of figures, with a couple of command stands:

These are about 1/4 of the light cavalry, with some heavies and foot archers too.

Looks ace!

I agree, top notch! I love 10mm figures, you really get an imposing army.
What rules will you be using? It seems like the things that made the Mongols so great would be hard to represent on a tabletop.
-
AWESOME!!! :-* :-* :-*
-
Thanks chaps
Rules wise Hail Caesar works well to represent highly mobile and flighty horse archers. We are currently working on some home brew rules, and evasion and reactions are included.
The strategic skills of the Mongols are perhaps better represented in the scenario setup?

10 mil!!!! :o
Fantastic 8)

AWESOME!!! :-* :-* :-*
Indeed!

10mm is the way to go!
Not if you have my eyeight and painting skills!!
However fantastic figures. Well done.

A nice selection of Yurts was part of the project too -

here are some Mongols riding up to a small encampment, are they coming to attack or are they coming home?
-
Great yurts!
-
Thanks.
That photo is showing some gaps in the paint job though, which is the problem when you go for artistic shots, but have painted at a table top expectation.

Got a few bases of heavy cavalry finished off - some not so great photos taken with flash

Nice :) You can't beat 10mm for that real army scale.
Jason.

They look great :)
cheers

Great stuff! Gruff!
-
Thanks chaps.
The horde is coming along steadily, lots more light cavalry to do - another 30 bases or so!
-
Nice - and 30 more bases yet to come!
-
Yep, something like that, but with only 4 light cav to a base you do get a lot of bases in the end!
there might even be a few mongol mythological creatures, to give them a chance against all our groups fantasy armies
-
Got some more of these chaps based up today! What's 20 odd months between additions to an army!

As well as the Pendraken Mongols, both mounted and foot, there are some Irregular Chinese Rockets, which fit in nicely and give a bit of long range support.
-
Like 'em :D
cheers
James

Cor, them's nice. Pendraken's doing a bang-up job with all their revamps and new ranges. As have you. ;)
-
Thanks chaps.
They are very nice figures, if a little small.
