I'm having a senior moment
Who makes the best 28mm scale WW1shielded Maxims?
I have some painted and I can't remember where Igot them....

Copplestone has one in the BC13 Elite Bolshevik Machine Gun pack. It doesn't show in the image, but it does come with a little shield you can add optionally and I find Mark's machine guns to look great and be very strong and robust. It also has the wheels and carry handle that you typically saw on Russian Maxims.

(the officer in that pack is also INCREDIBLY USEFUL as he could be used for just about any purpose)

Thanks Fram
I have a fair bit of lead to get from Mark I will see if he will sell me 10 Maxims minus crew.

Unfortunately, in this machine gun incorrectly made protective shield...

Yes, it's a bit off. Most noticeably, it has two top-corner cutaways instead of the one that the real thing seems to have. I think it'll still be fine if you're not too particular. Warboss nick just painted one up:

I recall reading that the Musketeer Miniatures Maxim gun team is the best one on the market, and after purchasing one I'm inclined to agree! Great casting on both the HMG itself and the crew.
