Title: Secret Sword Society
Post by: Mad Lord Snapcase on 31 May 2014, 11:17:10 AM
I have these two miniatures with the intention of creating an all-female Secret Sword Society. Can anybody suggest any more figures in a similar vein, thanks?

Here's my Australian Light Horse circa: 1914-18 secret sword.  ;)

(Wish it could talk because then it could tell me if it was used at Beersheba or not.)  :)

Beersheba was a bayonet charge....

Quote
The Light Horse were equipped with rifles and held their bayonets as swords, which would have been more suited to a cavalry style charge. Fortuitously their bayonet tips had been sharpened on the orders of Major General Hodgson, on 26 October.

In 1918 some light horse regiments were equipped with sabres, enabling them to fight in a conventional cavalry role in the advance on Damascus.

Interesting, cheers for that. It was picked up at a country swap meet with no history of it's background known, so I often wonder what story it would tell.

It's a very nice piece. Grandfather was at Beersheba as was my wifes. I have a couple of bayonets from the Zulu Wars. One I dug up at Rorkes Drift the other from Isandlwana.

Mere words are insufficient to express precisely how deep runs my hatred for the Prof.

That being said, NONE of this furthers Mad Lord Snapbean's never ending life-long quest for dangerous female companionship.

Can nobody assist him in his fruitless efforts to source toothpick totin' tottie?

BEFORE The Good Lady MLS catches him at it, again?

Some of the Hinterland command figures (Hussars and Sailors) might do.

Snappy's infatuation of women with the sword stems from the endless jabs he receives from them in their white uniform with the needle, on account of a recently revealed post of his stating he has a nasty rash.  See....  http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=67380.msg815227#msg815227     lol

Wait, WHAT??

The Mad Lord HAS a rash?

I misunderstood.

I thought twas a reference to his being overly [ b ]  BOLD  [ / b ]

On the face of it rash makes much more sense.
Though the rash isn't actually ON his face right?

Tisk, tisk, nothing quite like having one's private (privates?) health problems publically presented.

Touchy subject that.

Well, perhaps not.

At least not without gloves...

Speaking of Crooked Dice, maybe some of their ladies in 60's catsuits, with the gun (or whatever other weapon) replaced with a rapier?

There's also their classic daughters of S.H.I.V.A. who might just work as-is, though they are very limited and might be expensive?

And the new sculpts of the Daughters, which are quite available:

Thanks Wolfen, they're more fantasy than I'm looking for although the third one has possibilities.

FramFramson, yes I like the idea of the catsuit one with a rapier, that'll do nicely. I want to buy the Daughters of S.H.I.V.A. but they have been out of stock for quite a while, what's the story there? I'd not seen the new Daughters but they would do nicely as well, thanks.

I can assure you that reports of my nasty rash have been exaggerated!

Oh! There are also the three sisterhood assassins from the recent Tin Man minis kickstarter. It's been delayed, but I expect they'll be released this year.

Thanks, they look rather nice, I might use one or two of those.
