Title: Pulp Alley question
Post by: aliensurfer on 02 June 2014, 07:43:23 AM
probably a silly one, but if I buy the PDF today, can I play it without the card deck? Am sitting here at work thinking I can buy both books and go get them printed and bound in our reprographics department (for free)  :D

I ask only as every AAR I read seems to use the card deck (which I'll order from Statuesque Miniatures) but until I can afford the printed copies I figured buy the PDF's and then start to think about what figures to buy for my leagues.

Cheers chaps and chapesses

The cards are in the PDF as well, so you can make your own deck from the PDF version. I backed mine with Pulp pictures:

and all ordered and paid up, now once the PDF's are emailed I'll go and be nice to the ladies in repro and ask to print yet more rulebooks. they are so used to seeing what I print they no longer ask what it is  lol

It is handy I must admit, it's not normally free, but for some reason un-beknown the rest of humanity, the people that run it seem to like me  :o

Hey Scott!  I'm totally stoked to give P.A. a try too!  I'll be hooking up with Mr. Peabody and friends in a couple of weeks to engorge ourselves with all that is great in pulp gaming.  We have a lot of Murch mini's between us for Cthulhu gaming over the years.  It'll be nice to put em' into use!  I love the plot points in P.A.  It gives you a reason to paint non-combatants.  Many ideas running through my mind for this game.  Different eras as well!  Was just thinking about a "Kelly's Heroes" three act campaign that would be great fun!

most of mine do  ;)

just gone through the manufacturer list, too many choices, think I'll need to decide on a rough time period, as at the moment I see so many nice figures, I am tempted to have one league (the good guys) be chasing the bad guy(s) through time  lol

Will do!  I figure first act will be to acquire the necessary manpower and armour.  Second act  would be that encounter in the minefield.  And the third act you have to take out two tigers then convince the third Tiger to take out the bank door!  Great fun I think!

There's a Kelly's Heroes wargaming scenario somewhere on the web with maps made from repeated viewings of the film. I may have it bookmarked at home.

Crapgame should have had his own TV series...  Never in the history of human kind has anyone been able to roll their eyes at stupidity better than Don Rickles...
