Here are some shots of the game I ran at Partizan. I'm inordinately proud of my bridge... although everyone asked about the vineyards, instead. It was almost as if it was a "stealth" bridge. Grrr... ;-)

The bridge is cracking :-* :-* :-*
Tell us more, is it scratch built?

Awesome stuff. Saw some pics of this game on WSS's facebook page. Looks brilliant.
-
Great bridge, much better that the vineyards (which are also very nice) :D
The whole setup looks superb.
-
It was an ace game, loads of nice touches, I especially liked the legionary sunbathing (and the bridge, obviously!)
Cunning use of vinyl tiles for the river too.
Good work!
-
Thanks chaps!
James, that legionary sneaks into most of my games. I like the idea of a soldier slacking off in the midst of the fighting.
Cheers, Simon
-
Actually, thinking about it, I'd like a few more details about the boat if possible :)
cheers

Hi James, there's a bit about it down this thread:-

What a fantastic board. Love the bridge, although I'm not sure I'd have room for one quite that big. Also love the vineyards.

Hello all
Roman Arnhem?? ;D
Lovelly all. :-* :-* :-*
More pics please. ;D
Cheers

I loved the bridge!
Didn't see the vineyards though :( .....daughter was in charge of pics on the day as I was chatting away to people so I'll blame her for not pointing them out :D
-
Spectacular looking battle, Simon! :-*
Cheers,
Scott

Awesome! I love the bridge... and the vineyards... and the boat... and the figures!

The entire board, is absolutely amazing! Bridge...figs...boat...river...and vineyards... :o
-
Thank you Simon, just the sort of thing I was looking for :)
Going to do a Romans in Cumbria project fairly soon and try and build some of Ravenglass.
cheers

Thanks all! It came out very well. Onwards to the next one...
-
A stunning set-up.
All of it, but that bridge is particularly good, nice tonal work on the wood.
:-* :-* :-*
I cannot find the slacking legionary, though... ???

He's in all my games, but I forgot to take a pic! He's on this blog, towards the bottom.

One day I plan to model a complementary figure; a German auxiliary, on a lounger. ;-)

Start the deployment with a towel on a lounger - no German. Replace with German on a lounger before the main opposition turn up. :D
Superb looking game, as always. Love the bridge. Still think the vineyards are a work of genius.

Going to do a Romans in Cumbria project fairly soon and try and build some of Ravenglass.
Looking forward to that :)
And well done Simon on an iconic bit of tableware :-*
-
Thanks Phil and Shaun!
-
Bloody Cremona, bloody marvelous. Another small project ticked off...lol role on the next one.
Cheers

Beautiful, well done. The bridge is a triumph :)
-
A grand spectacle, all this deserved praise on the bridge and boat, but what about all those bloody legionaries? Magnificent stuff.
-
Thanks chaps!
The poor legionaries were somewhat overlooked. I was pleased with them, though.
Keith, I'll drop you a line tomorrow...
Cheers, Simon

This bigred-madness again!!
Simon, you are my Ancients hero, you really manage to start and also to finish all the projects I am only dreaming of. Damn, it's so bloody impressive.
-
I thank you, your Profness.
Several more insane projects are in the pipeline... I'm just kicking ideas about. Luckily there are still some big battles left to do! :)
-
I had the pleasure of playing in the game on Sunday - the rules are good fun and easy to play too! (and I'm not just saying that because the Othonians won against all the odds!) :D
Would recommend anyone who is looking for a fast and furious set of rules to try out 'To the Strongest' - highly recommended.
Cheers
Greg

Thanks Greg! It was a blast. Simon
