Title: Farewell Lord Flashheart......WOOF!!!
Post by: Peter@BattleScape on 10 June 2014, 12:39:48 AM
I have just read the terrible news that Rik Mayall has died.
'Tis a tragedy. I grew up on the Young Ones, Bottom, Blackadder and remember him in many more brilliant roles. You never quite new what to expect when he was in a show, but it would always be brilliant.

Oh no!  :'(

Even now I could probably quote most of the Young Ones verbatim.

What a shame!
We got Black Adder, Young Ones and Belly over hear in the states believe it or not.

I still remember the first time I saw the Young Ones in high school in the 80's.

He was a very funny man.

Really sad news.

He always made me laugh, even in an advert.

More recently,  he was brilliant in Man Down as the evil dad.

RIP

Who could forget such lines as. 'Like the beard Bridesmaid, it gives me something to hang on to !!!' (Black Adder)
OR
'And now the ferrit down the trousers ! Quite dangerous I think you'll agree !!' (The Dangerous Brothers)
And so many other moments he made me laugh.

Read about it during my break last night :'(
Many good memories of him in The Young ones, Blackadder, Bottom.
Only saw a few episodes of The New Statesman and of some storytelling show (which he did brilliantly)

Way too young. He was the essence of anarchic comedy.

That reminds me... when I was watching 'Bambi' last night, I realized that was Hugh Laurie as one of the Posh Kids (Robbie Coltrane is also in that episode, and is very readily identifiable). These fellows really did work with each other for a long time.

Robbie was also the bouncer at the "roller disco" in Riks' room in series 1 episode 2....when they moved into the new house.
