Good afternoon ladies and gentle-wargamers,
We're pleased to announce that after a period of working away, rolling dice, moving miniatures around and much note taking, our new rule set covering the age of blackpowder skirmishes is now entering the testing stage.
The game is called Firelocks and will initially be covering the Napoleonic era, but we are branching into others, such as the English civil war, as we continue with the design work.
To give you a flavour of what we are working on we have put up a little post on our site which you can see here:

We look forward to hearing what you think!
All the best till next time!
Garry

I will know more about 'what I think' concerning your rule when I see more to think about - AARs, examples of play, some sense of the mechanics, that sort of thing.
Gracias,
Glenn

I think WW2 and Napoleonics are the most overcrowded market for wargaming rules out there, so I sincerely hope this new addition will be mind-blowing or it will struggle to be noticed.

Maybe... it's WW2 with Napoleonics! Massive blackpowder tanks running around, skirmishing brightly coloured infantry, Hussars in Halftracks gesticulating wildly and looking terrific doing it.
Edit: named my new game, just there. Copyright and all that. Authors asserts etc.

We did consider including blackpowder tanks in the game, but after much consideration felt that it would lose the character of the period and give those nations which are not quite so technically developed an unfair advantage.
The wild gesticulating and looking terrific however has been included in the game, but not just limited to the Hussars for balance purposes.
Btw, we're in it for the fun of it ;)

Oh and my apologies for the thread hijack :(
I wish you all the best with your new Naps game Firelock!

Thanks and no problem Grant!
The idea of Hussars in Halftracks is an excellent one and gave us a good chuckle. After all, too many things in life are serious and we should all be laughing more often.
Cheers

Nice one!

And good luck to you and the game. I'm also going to check out 'Bugle & Shako' quickplay rules, as I see they're free from your website.

11th Hussars, in half tracks, with ARTILLERY! Truth is stranger than etc etc etc... ;)

Yes! 8 Canadian Hussars too - VIII Recce, officially.
Now, seriously - I deeply, deeply regret being silly earlier, and highjacking the thread, so please - if you want to talk Hussars in Halftracks - http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=67958.0
And of course there's my blog http://soldatetain.wordpress.com/2014/06/15/hussars-in-halftracks/
But please, please, please: respect the fellow who is actually making a serious Napoleonic game (and thank heavens he has a sense of humour!), and return this thread to him ;)

Thanks Grant and thanks all for the good Hussars laugh!
We're doing some playtesting next Monday and we will give you another update about the game shortly.
