Title: Baggage Train Needed!
Post by: Argonor on 22 June 2014, 03:45:37 PM
I'm putting together an Ixsengard force for God of Battles, and I'm going to use some of Scotia Grendels (I think) barbarian huts/tents for their campsite, but I need some carts/wagons for the bagage train.

Can somebody please suggest some nice models to cross-genre purposes (dark age/medieval/fantasy)?

Gripping Beast, Front Rank.
Both have some nice carts/wagons in 28mm.
Check also http://war-bases.co.uk/ACCESSORIES/Carts-Wagon

Cheers

Yes - although I'm also going to play the game in 15mm (we have a growing GoB15 community here in DK), and shall need some stuff for that later  lol

I think the Perrys have a nice selection  :)

cheers

James

I shall have a look, thanks!

Thanks, I've started with a couple of carts/wagons from Perry.  :)

Any suggestions for 15mm? I'm going to make a barbarian army, so the wagans/carts can be fairly crude.

And, while I'm at it: Any suggestions for 15mm tents and other camp stuff?

Have you considered scratch-built terrain? Carts and tents and whatnot are pretty simple!

I have some articles with details on more complex stuff that could be put together for simpler projects:

Hour of Wolves Articles (http://www.hourofwolves.org/?view=articles)

Specifically, check out the construction articles!

Thanks

If you want Dark Ages, GB does a nice set for a SAGA scenario.  Two carts, animals to pull, townsfolk and goods.

Baueda makes a lot of 15mm tents and baggage items: link (http://www.baueda.com/)

Museum Miniatures have some good wagons but mostly late medieval - their new Hussite wagons look really tempting...

Rather a huge selection and of the highest quality in terms of the dynamic interaction of the men, animals and carts etc.

Darrell.

Fenris have a few bits that are worth considering including this cart. £5, comes without beast of burden but worth it still if you ask me. Talking of beasts, Fenris have some as do . . . .

Forlorn Hope Games have Oxen:

£3 each for 1 - 3 or £2.40 for 4 or more. I believe they have a mule of burden out soon as well.

I have just started a little baggage train of my own starting with a handfull of laden donkeys from TAG miniatures:

£6.50 for three.

You also Renedra who make barrels, saxon tents amongst other bits and bobs you may like. http://www.renedra.co.uk/productlist.php?showall=0&perpage=48
