I own and enjoy The Beautiful Game by Two Hour Wargames but it does take about 90 minutes to play. I wanted a game that I could play solo or head to head in about 5-10 minutes and play a tournament or a season easily. I have created a concept called Quick Play Sports. My first one is Soccer and I'm working on Baseball and Football. The concept was born when I listened to a WC Game and the analyst said most sports come done to a few key plays per half and generally after pondering it I agreed. I rated my teams with Four Reps Offense, Midfield, Defense, and Goal Keeping. I use a Chance table then 3d6 versus Rep to resolve 4 key plays per half. I made ratings for The Group of Death.

We have gathered feedback from over 150 games played and had great input from Rich Jones author of The Beautiful Game. The result is a great new version which includes extra time, improved scoring chances, league rules, injuries, and cards. You still just need a few d6 and 15 minutes!
The new version is available for free at LZBravo.com and 2hourblog.blogspot.com
Please keep the feedback rolling in.

Five Minute World Cup.
Player requirements: As many differently coloured six sided dice as you have players, one for each country. Each player gets seven die rolls, taken alternately.
England. On a roll of 1-5 you are eliminated. Roll three sixes in a row and you have built expectations too high, Fleet Street savages you and you are eliminated. Stab yourself in the hand with a biro.
Italy. On a roll of 1-4 you are eliminated. On a roll of 3 or more you collect a Golden Globe, 2X Daytime Emmy Awards and and an Oscar.
Germany. Roll the die five times and whatever the final roll is, you are eliminated. Blame swine flu.
Argentina. On a roll of 1-3 you are eliminated, however you get one (1) free chance to change the die's face to whatever you choose (el mano de dios). Upon elimination, your economy resumes its free-fall. Empty the contents of your wallet and set fire to it.
Netherlands' On a roll of one to three you are eliminated. On a roll of five or more vicious infighting breaks out. Abuse yourself for five minutes, kick yourself in the shins and throw the dice away.
Colombia. On a roll of 4 or less you are eliminated. On a roll of 2 or less someone comes over and shoots you.
Should take about five minutes. Fun for all the family.

Uruguay: On a Roll of a 6, Suarez eats a member of the opposition, apply a -1 penalty to their future rolls.
