Purely to satisfy my nosiness, what Companies are people working on now ?
By 'Working On' I mean actually painting - figures that have been at least undercoated. Everyone has a lead pile and a project list, but that's not what I'm really interested in. To start off, I am working on -
A Vampire company (Westwind EOTD figures) and a Zulu company (Warlord plastics)
Yours, intrigued ....
-
I'm working on an Atlantean animalmen style company. Possibly with some "Actual Atlantean" Nobles or Officers.
It depends on how the points work out.
The figures are pretty much painted, (Wargods of Aegyptus Anubis, Basti and Horus) so mainly native style sword, bow and spear with a few appropriate Talents per species. (This is the hard part!)
The Nobles and Officers are coming from a few different manufacturers as well as Wargods of Olympus Sparta and Minoan figs, there might be some Warmachine Warjacks and Manowar power-armour in the mould of steamwalkers, surprisingly enough.
I do have a slight advantage in as much that I have been building an Atlantean Army for several years and adapting the miniatures to various rules systems.
I'll post stats and maybe piccies when I have them worked out.

You can squeeze 4 of them into a 300 point league.

8.NWMP "U Troop"
Stepman what miniature are you using for the leader of U-troop? Also did you use any First Nation Cree figures and if yes what models did you use?

I'm painting up some Agema miniatures Velites for my Neo-Sumerian cult, though, I fear, not up to the standards of ant1clock's brilliant miniature
Thanks

H.G. Wells and the Cave Girls...with socialists and future men. Figures from all over. I think Wells is Foundry. The two best Cave Girls are Nasteez and Bombshell Miniatures. The socialists are Foundry and the future men are Heroclix.
-
The U Troop figures were Empress miniatures Zulu War Brits, Mounted Police both mounted and dismounted versions. On half of them I did head swaps to wear the "Montana" style hat. Those I got from Wargames Factory male survivors box. The Bigfoot was an old Horror Clix figure the Cree came from Conquest Miniatures plains Indians...Check the IHMN facebook page for pics of them...

Currently I have nothing on the painting table - I am a slave to the keyboard I'm afraid... :(

Fighting monks (i think i have enough figs for that already)
re write a few of my companies with the new talents and magic
Wolfmen lord vampires to follow
-
My painting table is a tad limited in access & availability at the moment, so I've 'tendered' out what I need sorting to a very accomplished chap :)
My new Company ideas have headed off to the Gothic realm, almost from the first moment I got the HVF expansion.
* Cult of Apophis - an Egyptian sect to oppose the Servants of Ra, dark evil deity types with undead and/or enslaved Egyptian warriors and Sand Worms. And even some potential for some mummy-on-mummy action too. Still in figures-collection stage and creative note-writing, but some odd fantasy types and beasties already bought and primed.
* Grand-Duchess Estrella's Lifeguards - a Hapsburg all-female military unit, aiming to safeguard the old Empire from threats within and without. Using the Hinterland Miniatures for these ladies, and some notes already drafted too.
* Neo-Hussite 'Prokop' Company - from the 'Order of the Chalice', the separatist movement wanting free government for all Czechs, Bohemians, Moravians & Slovaks. A band of adventurers directed eastwards to discover what actually goes on in Carpathia, Ruthenia & Transylvania. Mix of figures collected so far awaiting some modifications to resemble the 'Hussite' manners and methods of fighting these folks have adopted.
-
I shall look forwards to these new companies, especially the Neo-Hussites :D
-
Prepping 15 mm Tarzan, Jane (in 'jungle gear,') and nine "Great Apes."
I would have paint on them but for a late lunch (2 hours of talk) with war gamers (sold some 25 mm Spanish and Moros for SAW,) and taking Dog to Vet (another two hours since it is quite a ways away - but worth it as Vet is family friend,) for inoculations (including 11 months and 29 days since his last one rabies!) and now fixing dinner before solo Nursing Home visit for Mom-in-Law...
Gracias,
Glenn

I have just a few finishing touches to add to my Royal Navy landing party (Copplestone). Now that we have an official RN list in SDRS, I'd be doing myself an injustice if I didn't convert a flamethrower team and purchase a diver model (Ratnik) and a Chinese cook model too.
I also have terracotta basecoats on a load of Renegade warring states Chinese. The points costs for Terracotta warriors (SDRS again) are a lot higher than I had envisaged so I have more than twice as many as I need; I may offer some for trade in the trade forum at some point.
-
We were surprised at the cost of the Terracotta warriors as well, but they are tough hombres :D
-
Craig,
Hopefully you should have a draft on the Prokop Company (the Neo-Hussites) plus an entry from the Company Journal, waiting in your inbox for your perusal and thoughts.
-
Nothing has popped up in my yahoo mail account yet :(
-
Hmmm, sent 24 hours ago from my Gmail. I shall go investigate.

I am sorely pressed for time at the present, and have been forced to contract out some brushwork. I am currently waiting (and waiting) for two companies to be completed:
1. My own Company of German archaeologists in the employ of Thule: Forschungsgruppe. Figures from West Wind (GHM0010, GHM0005, GHM0003) and Crocodile Games (WGE-014a, b, c, and/or d).
The Company is here: http://wrgmr.com/pdfs/forschungsgruppe.pdf
EDIT: This Company has now been updated to make it compatible with all of the changes published in SDRS, and its points have been checked with Lady Kate's Marvellous Maniacal Enumerator. The Bow of Aten has been modified and double-checked with Kate's most excellent---sorry, marvelous---custom points widget. If you have loaded the PDF prior to this edit, reload then refresh your browser.
2. Thule's Totenkopf Battalion (HVF). This Company features Andrew May's superb Meridian Miniatures, in this case great-coated, gasmasked, pickelhaube-wearing soldiers led by Oberst Ilsa Klimt, personified by Raging Heroes' Ivanka Kurganova.
Ilsa/Ivanka can be found here:

Something we shall look forwards to seeing Mike.
Ilsa, being the brutal sister of Gustav perchance? She always was a 'handful' after growing up in a house with seven older brothers :D Her father eventually had her committed and subjected to this new electrical shock therapy to see if it could not make her more ladylike. It didn't...

Thanks for Ilsa's family history, Craig. Frankly, I thought she rose to her present position because of her huge.....tracts of land. lol

A quick update regards painting....
Just taken delivery of the delightful Hapsburg ladies - so now I need to get working on the information about them too.
-
It's taken a while but here are some piccies of my Animalmen/Women and Atlantean Armour support.
Figures from Wargods and Warmachine. (Oh yes and Pound Palace)

Stats too follow.
-
Impressive bunch.
-
Right my First set of Basic stats. (I say basic 'cos these will be my starting points from which to build characters from in each basic "Race")
The Basti (Feline) Warrior
Pluck 4+
F.V. +2
S.V. +1
Speed +2
Armour 7
Skills: Weapons:
Intuitive Sword + Bow
Stealthy
Base Cost 22pts.
Now I am playing with the idea of giving them all Fanatic and Tough, just to give them as many possible saves and re-rolls to reflect their animal agility. But this would also ramp up the costs as well. The thing is I'd like them to represent a lower end of the Atlantean force so field quite a few, while still being able to have a Noble Atlantean/Officer present in his armour.
This may prove tough to pull off. With my wanting them to be at least the equal of the best most Human forces Walkers like the Heavy Prussian ones in the main rulebook.
But that's my problem isn't it?
-
A Pluck of 4+ is good for basic troops and means against most weapons they'll have a 50/50 chance of survival.
-

...
Well, that leaves me out of this discussion.
Any chance I can mention my daughter has in hand, and I'm hopeful she'll start painting my dwarf Prussian stampfentruppen (Sorry, bad Google translation)?
Originally a G.A.S.L.I.G.H.T. project, I hope to get a company out of it as well. Instead of a big walker as a member of the company, it will be the vehicle.
