Hi All,
Does anyone know where I can buy 1 and 2 euro cent coins? Some joker on ebay is offering them for 10 euro a roll, but the face value is 1 euro...
I just want to buy some to base my 10mm minis on but cant seem to find them in Amsterdam..
HELP! :D
Hi All,
If anyone in an EU country that can still get 1 and 2 euro cent coins (clearly not NL), I would be very thankful if they could get 4 or 5 rolls of each and post them to me. An envelope is fine to keep down postage. I will obviously be more than happy to reimburse you for your trouble and expense.
Thanks in advance!

Your BANK should be able to give you some.
Usually rolled up like this:

Thanks for the quick reply! I tried my local bank here in Amsterdam and they use a machine to dispense the rolled coins, but the smallest is 5 cent. I know I can use MDF as a backup, but with 10mm stuff I was going to try a magnetic sheet to store them and the coins work perfectly.

I base my 15mm's on 1cent coins and stick them with little magnets in a metal toolbox for storage.
I kept collecting the coins from my wallet, about 20 a week or so. If this is no option for you, maybe you're more lucky with german ebay (like this (http://www.ebay.de/itm/171365498959)). Or I could get you some from my bank. But I guess the postage is killing you anyway.
By the way, how many do you need?

As far as I know, Finland and the Netherlands are the two euro countries which have ditched those denominations for good. Technically they should be legal tender but in practice many shops don't even accept them. At least here they're only produced in very small batches for collectors (go figure) so a random local bank won't have any. They must be imported from another country that's minting them for wider use and the bank probably won't bother. I don't think they even have an obligation to distribute anything else than nationally minted coins, hence no 1c or 2c.
Looks like you have to smuggle them yourself or ask someone (other than me!) to send some.

Cheers Mate, that makes more sense!

there are washers that size that work even better....

I still have a plastic with 1 & 2 cent Euro coins. It's a small bag (mind you) but there will be easily 30 to 40 of those 1 & 2 cent Euro coins in there. Let me know if you are interested. I am in Holland, close to Amsterdam and visit it on a regular basis. Cheers. 8)

We still have them down here in Belgium! If you are near the border just pop over and visit a bank!

i used them a while ago, but cents have a much better defined edge: the whole round border is flat and round, with no lipped edges!

Are you still looking for these? Coincidentally I just counted through the penny jar today and have 200 1c and 100 2c coins bagged up.

Yes sir! :D

Hey TBC, I hate to say this now, (missed your topic until now) but I have been collecting 1 and 2 cent coins as bases for my 15mm miniatures for the past year or so and have a pretty decent stack since people keep giving me them now they know I use them.
Should you find your short on any give me a poke. :D We should find some time to play some games again anyhow!
