Any Aussies looking at going this year?
I think I shall be. Perhaps it's too early to discuss haha. But good to know its on.
Cheers
Matt

If you go,I'll go...However I must limit my spending lol
-
More MaK and pulp planes Guy? ;)
Would it be worth putting on a table you think? Pulp alley? SSS or shoot n skedaddle? I know the SSS rules...
-
Yeah, that might be good :) If you do,let me know what I could do?
-
I'll probably be there guys and we desperately need something like that!
I'd love to try Shoot & Skedaddle in particular, but any fun skirmish game would do.
MOAB really lacks anything like that. :'(
-
Well if isn't that a kick up the backside, haha. I think a post apoc outback setting would be a goer for MOAB. Guy, do you have any OW stuff or just pulp/WWW/postapoc?
I may need to polish Steve's SSS, or play some shoot n skeddadle. ;)
Does MOAB generally play ww2 and GW?
Cheers
Matt

Have some Old West and one or two buildings as well :)
-
I'll be heading down as well. I'd like to run my Resident Evil skirmish game but it won't be done in time, so it'll have to wait until next year.
I haven't been before, what should I expect?

MOAB caters to all the mainstream wargames pretty well, FOW, WHFB, W40K, some ancients and Napoleonics etc.

And there webpage is here http://www.southernbattlegamers.org/moabsite/
What it really lacks are some great skirmish and participation games. Now and again I have seen some folk demoing certain rulesets like Force on Force or Chain of Command, but what I'd love to see are some grand games in the tradition of this forum.
I think it's here that us Aussies just can't compare. :'(

Participants be aware!
Sunday will have a SSS skirmish game :D If you want to lend a hand or meet me in person come along on sunday.
Now i better pull my finger out and illustrate some snazzy character cards and event cards to play with. :|
Cheers

Scavenge Skirmish Survive: New Silverton
Single Day Event Sunday
Presented by Matt, Pete and Guy
A gust of wind blows dirt through the air around your small band of survivors. The Geiger counter one of you is carrying crackles more intently for a short time. Perhaps this area is too high to explore after all? Nonsense, no risk, no spoils. Your party keeps together as you pick through the ruins of a pre-war town, constantly on the lookout for danger. You don't mind the rad-roaches or molerats, it's the rad-scorpions that's the danger, that... and other humans. There is no option really, unlike the good old days of complete excess, in post-apocalyptia if you don't scavenge you will die, spelling death for your 'family'. So here you are, picking through dusty old boxes and cupboards while skirmishing with other selfish greedy individuals, in a grim effort to survive. There must be somewhere on this continent where civilisation is being reborn?

MOAB opens from 7:00am, first official SSS game on the sunday is 9:00am
Where?
Sylvania Heights Community and Youth Club, Box Road, Sylvania. NSW 2224. Australia.
Come and say hello! Ill be wearing a LAF badge ;)
-
That's too bad, I could only make it down today, otherwise I'd be there. Do more people tend to participate in games on the Sunday? Or later in the day? I got there early and was gone by 1pm, everyone was just milling about spending money.
-
Managed to find Blackwolf and Bertrand.
A tad quiet on the LAF front elsewhere.
-
Planning to be there at 9.00am sharp to play in Matt's game tomorrow and bringing the number one son along too.
Looking forward to seeing any LAFers there too.
-
Thanks for posting about this, I didn't know that it is held Locally here in Sydney, can't go this year but will have to put that date down for next year and make shore I keep that long weekend free. I hope it its a great long weekend of gaming for every one that can make it this year.
Good luck with your New Silverton Game. It would of been good to see rules by The Silent Invader in play. I read them a while back but have never seen them in play, it should be a great game. Hopefully you guys who play might be able to post a few shots from the day, enjoy.

Well the bring and buy was a busy affair to find bargains. Hopefully today has a little more gaming - don't forget the majority of the con in pre registered competitions. So that may have something to do with it. The pirate game looked great, but there was a considerable rule book consulting going on which put me off thoroughly.
See you soon. I'm in the middle back near the stage.
Cheers

Great to see you there Furt with mini Furt, he has been trained well in the way of dice rolls and pew pews. As always with SSS there was very little surviving and more of the former. He did very well, you did too.
A edit (corcker) of a day enjoying the hospitality of MOAB and meeting people.
Cheers

It was a great game Matt - thanks so much for putting it on and being so accommodating.
What a great looking table - really eye catching. You have a great range of very nicely painted minis and the stat cards looked a treat too.
Both Furt and little Furt did have a great time. He is still talking about it just now, and how he killed half of your team. :o
I swear it is the influence of violent video games, that made him hunt down your crew like that, rather than be looking for shiny bottle caps.
I was proud (and surprised) to come away with the win after stealing everyone's loot, avoiding an axe wielding maniac and dragging a giant two-headed brahmin around the table.
Again thanks mate, it was awesome and something MOAB has really lacked. Hope to see you next year. :)

Anyone get any photos of Matt's SSS game?
