Title: The Spectacular Six, a Fistful of Lead AAR
Post by: BaronVonJ on 03 July 2014, 05:57:01 PM: Last night was one of the most enjoyable game of FfoL I've played. And I've played a lot of Fistful of Lead over the years. It was a scenario I wrote years ago. So, in honor of the late, great Eli Wallach who passed away last week:
"The poor village of Pocoloco has been terrorized for months by the infamous Bandit El Guapo and his band of banditos. Now, the poor villagers have cobbled together enough pesos to to convince some down on their luck gunslingers to help fight the bandit king."
The scenario starts with the Gunslingers set up hidden within the village. El Guapo and d10 banditos start a one point somewhere outside of town. There was only one gap in the walls, and that's where the majority of the gunslingers laid in wait. One took position in the church bell tower.
At the end of each turn, a d10 was rolled. If the number was higher than number of live banditos on the table, another d10 was rolled to see how many showed up. Also, for each bandit killed the previous turn a villager was added to gunslingers.
Each gunslinger got use a d12 and randomly drew one trait. The banditos used the usual d10, and the lowly villagers had to use a 8.
To win, the banditos had to kill all the gunslingers. The gunslinger won if they killed 12 banditos.

Just waiting for a few more banditos to arrive through the post, I think they must be swimming across the Atlantic the time its taking.
I have already decided to the same dice that you used but what are the traits that you refer to above.

Post by: BaronVonJ on 03 July 2014, 08:43:06 PM: Black Burt, Traits are available on the Yahoo Group and are in the soon to be released Fistful of Lead:Reloaded which has gang creation and campaign rules. Traits add a little random flavor to your gangs. For instance, Rusty in the tower drew a 2 card and had "Stone Killer" trait which gives him a deadly +1 to all Wound rolls.

Post by: BaronVonJ on 03 July 2014, 11:22:05 PM: I should probably post a demo, but it's a really cheap type of table cloth material ($5 a yard) I get at the local big box hobby place. It's plastic with a cotton backing. You flip it over cotton side up. Then roll on your favorite color. It's great because you can make your hills or other terrain using the same paint and it matches. Got one on every environment for minimal cost.

There's nowt worse than seeing a Cowboy/Mexican/Indian walking tall on the Frontier... being followed by an anthill of status markers! FofL is better than most in this department but can still look a bit daft when a passel of lead's been exchanged on main street. My braynwave works perfect for us as we use Britain's Deetail big-boys with metal bases, but could be adapted by bunging yer shootist on a metal washer.
White magnataped skull marker for one wound, red for two... your Hero can carry 'em around on his base till he walks onto the one that sends him to Boot Hill... simple, innit?*

Post by: Black Burt on 16 July 2014, 11:14:02 PM: Just played this scenario, well not finished yet as we ran out of time.
It has been a really fun game with the banditos losing 7 figures so far and the gunslingers have lost 4 out of 7 (3 dead and one legged it).
In the last round before we finished for the night the villagers got into the action with a vengeance taking out two of the bandits.
Looking forward to finishing the game next week.
It has proved to be a well balanced fun game, my sort of game.
