Title: Recommdations for Macross UN Spacy Personel in15mm
Post by: Davros on 06 July 2014, 10:18:26 PM
      Dear List Members:

I am wondering anyone might have recommendations for 15mm miniatures that can be used as UN Spacy personnel for upcoming project>

On that scale detail is going to be relatively minimal...so almost nay figures with uniforms will do.  There seem to be a lot of 15mm sci-fi lines though I couldn't name them for ya.

I have the huge Robotech Repair Bay kit, which I bought for my Battletech project. I will probably only be using the mechs, vehicles and bay, but not the ground crew and pilots. There must be at least 20 to 30 of the little guys, in the correct uniforms, and the scale is 1/100, which is 15mm.

So if you're interested, I'm sure we can come to some sort of agreement...  :)

Wash out your mouth with soap sir!

The detail on 15mm sci fi figures, these days, is definitely enough to warrant a search for something that comes close, frankly the level of detail being achieved in 15mm is amazing.

For dudes who look similar to those in the pictures, I can't say I have seen anything that comes close to it as of yet. However Khurasan is about to release some Federal Magistrates/Politicians, although no one has seen them yet, but maybe keep an eye out to see what those are like?

The only other figures I can think of that could be used instead is GZGs Generic Command figures :

They are far more plain however, with only one commanderish guy, there are no pictures on site, but there are some on the web (i have a few myself).

Thank you for putting that old myth in it's proper place.

The level of detail on many figures today (dare I say most) in all scales from 1/600th up is certainly 'complete' and, despite occasional errors, usually quite like the history or story line (if 'established' Fantasy/Science Fiction) records.

This is the Golden Age of Miniatures, especially if you remember the 1970s (which had many great miniatures then too!)

Gracias,

Glenn

By the way; here's a quick link to some painted examples of the Macross Factory crew, for your convenience:

Those would be a good bet.  The 1/100 scale Macross Factory was available for some very very reasonable prices too recently on Hobby Link and ebay.  That was perhaps a year or two ago - but if you can find them, may be worth buying up a couple for the figures?
