Has any of you esteemed Ladies and Gentlemen ever attempted to put the new Renedra Mud-Brick House together? I am simply astonished by the extremely ineffective, nay bad, design... Nothing fits together, nothing clicks... How the hell am I supposed to glue 4 walls and a roof together and hold the at the same time?
-
I found that it went together pretty well. If I recall correctly, I let the walls get tacky and turned it all upside down. Clicking the roof into place let it all stick in place.
That said, it needs a bit of greenstuffing to clear the cracks - and cracks aplenty there are. Once it's put together though, it looks okay even with the lines showing.
-
Thank you for the reply! I am flabbergasted by the way they've split this up. Mine is a true pain to put together and I am not a rookie modeller...
-
I got quite stressed when I started, but I went off for dinner, came back and it all suddenly made sense. You do need to examine the guidance on the back much more carefully than I did to begin with.
-
Can anybody tell me whats the size of the door and windows?
-
Sure,
door is Width x Height 1.6 x 3.4 cm
windows are WxH 0.6 x 1,7 cm and they are placed ca. 2 cm off the floor
I managed to build mine finally and I must say... if Renedra wants to produce that kind of products, I refuse to give them money for them. Seldom have I seen such bad fit and such a bad way of setting up assembly. And at that price.
The result looks ok, but it's not worth nearly 20 € and two evenings of hassle (on for glueing and one for closing all the gaps with greenstuff.

Thank you Dimi!

In counterpoint, it took me one evening to assemble and paint it and it looks okay/nice in these AARs.

Well, some people's evenings are longer than others...
These two took me an evening till now

while I spent about two evenings for these two about two years ago

and the material was under 5€ for all 4 of them...
And to be honest - I don't really think that the plastic one looks better! :?
And that at only 18€ and nearly the same time each!

@ahistorian
Yes, great result indeed. Glad you felt more comfortable with it.
@Ben
You are right! These look great! When you have some time... We should talk again. You know... ;) :)
