Right, I'm looking to make a few teleporter/portal markers for dungeonbowl rather than using the age old pieces of cardboard.
I think I've worked out how I want to do it.. Some kind of coloured plastic tube on top of a led candle light set-up. Fairly basic really.
Now the issue arises... Where the hell do I get coloured plastic tube from?
Also, is there any way of 'forcing' the light from the led up the sides of the tube rather than just sort of 'glowing' at the bottom.
Thanks in advance for any help,

I have no idea where You can get the tube.
clear plastic usually lights up very nicels if shone from the side. So the only thing You need is to cover the bottom of the tube inside and to disperse the LED light with a screen, so that it shines homogeneously through the sides, and You will get a nice effect. I thought of using this effect myself to light up a portal membrane. btw, I saw clear plastic or glas tinted nicels with glaze or ink

Thanks former user.
Good call James, I hadn't even considered using rod. Do you know if you can get it coloured?
Edit# Just found some blue neon plastic rod on eBay, do you think 10mm diameter will be alright with an led underneath it (I obviously haven't got any led's yet as I'm doing all the important working out in my head).
Maybe i should have stayed for the full half an hour of that electrics course.... ::)
