Title: Vickers MGs 'Out East'
Post by: Plynkes on 12 August 2008, 12:18:54 PM
In almost all colour photos I've seen of British Vickers MGs, the bits that are painted are painted green.

Does anybody know if during the Great War, such guns serving in tropical or desert climates were repainted a sandy colour? I don't have a clue whether to leave them green or paint them sandy for my tropical Brits. I have no photos in any of my books that are any use in making a decision.

Ta.

To add to the confusion, they would likely have the water jacket on them for hot climates!
