Title: A little amusement to mark a milestone

As this is my 5 thousandth - 5K - post (still find that hard to believe  :o ) I thought I would mark the occasion with a 5K quiz. Five questions whose answers all start with "K". To be make it a little more testing the questions require a bit more thought to get there.

1) This battle sounds to have involved a dwarf friend of Bilbo and a diminutive female schoolboy. The victorious rebels may have toasted their success with a scotch?

2) A bladed weapon who featured in a 1998 Blade?

3) In the land of my creation I was called Gale but to my enemies I was "Frank". I spent my whole career in the Pacific.

4) A start to the century and the day after Valentine's the inhabitants here were so relieved to see French. Where?

5) I heard cousin Frederic Chopin play and later fought off some Tigers near a cemetery. Who am I?

No. 1 is the Battle of Killiekrankie if I'm not mistaken. It helps to know who Wee Jimmy Krankie is! (and Soldier's Leap).
