Hi everybody!
I just got my brand new copy of crescent&cross and now, while I assemble and paint some crusaders, I'm thinking about the next warband (you never have enough... :D)!
I would love to get some camel riders model, but I can't find any really good model (probably because of my poor google-skill...), so maybe someone here, in this fantastic forum, can help me!
Scale should be 28 mm, and both metal and/or plastic can do the job...
Thank you!
Maxx

Black Tree seems to have some, but how good they are... I'll leave it up to you to judge:

Thank you, Argonor, for the quick reply!
I see them, they are not too bad and if I can't find anything better I'll probably go for it... but I wonder if there are some better models.
I think that with the new C&C factions camel riders will became more poplular... and maybe someone will produce nice models to fill this gap in miniatures production!
(By the way... I found some zombie camel riders miniatures! I love this crazy world! lol)

Ah, yes I had forgotten all about those. I think I need them for alternative Undead Knights for my God of Battles army! :D
I'll be getting C&C in a few weeks' time, right now I have too many projects boiling...

I already play SAGA Dark Age (Normans, Vikings and Norse Gaels), and I love this game!
And the new C&C book is really well done!
right now I have too many projects boiling...
And who doesn't? :D But this is a good thing in our hobby!

Love the rules, too - and I'm going to use C&C for Gondor vs Haradrim, among other things, while I use the Norman battleboard for Rohan.

Hello Argonor,
maybe you can read a little bit german and take a look here http://tabletopdeutschland.wordpress.com/category/fantasy/der-herr-der-ringe/
Frank made a lot of tested list for "Lord of the Rings"-Saga.

One of the things that make SAGA a great ruleset, IMO, is its versatility... with a few changes (or even no changes at all...) you can use almost any background...
-
... but I'm still looking for camel riders miniatures options ;)

Doesn't Gripping Beast do some nice ones under the "Desert Frontier" heading?

Yes they do. They're pretty much perfect with a little bit of greenstuff added to their robes to give them a more Eastern look- they were made with North Africa in mind when sculpted.

I know these, and did download them, but I haven't started using them, yet. :)

There are some great maps of Haradwaith out there. Like this one. I think it might be from the 1st Age, or at least back when Gondor held the Harondor and Ithilien. (Don't recall the history exactly).

Wow!
Thank you guys for all your hints!
I didn't see the GB camel models... They look better than the black tree ones, I think...
But now that I'm reading the C&C rulebook, I wonder who makes the camel riders you can see in the pic at page 47 (and more others...)... I love them, but they don't look like GB or BT (maybe I'm wrong, since the pics on the sites are small and unpainted...)
@Sir Barnaby: the map is amazing! I could use it for a campain :P

I see the best pic of the camel rider IK'm looking for is the Mutatawwja warband on page 84 of of C&C rulebook.... :)

I'm sure I read somewhere that Gripping Beast will be releasing more miniatures for C&C. They have released the Crusaders and Saracens first, but I think I read that they will be releasing miniatures for the other factions also at some point! If I have got that right, then I would expect some camel riders out of them.
-
Looking in WI issue 322, I just found that Gripping Beast were asked if any new figures were to be released, the answer was yes. They make mention that while they are using some of their favourite figures from their existing ranges, they supplemented all the factions with many new figures. The starter warbands and re-inforcement blisters will be released in three waves: Crusaders and Saracens; Milites and Mutatawi'a; and then Moors and Spanish.
Looking at page 84 of C&C, those camel riders look GB in style to me. I suspect they are yet to be released models.
Maybe email GB and ask if and when they will be releasing camel riders.

Thank you, cram!
Probably you're right. I will ask GB about it :)
Anyway I will wait a little to buy other camel riders, waiting for next GB release and/or news... So I have time to finish to pain my crusaders :D
