Title: Later Romans
Post by: bigredbat on 25 August 2014, 11:57:24 AM
Earlier this year my mate Craig Davey very kindly sold me some very nice Foundry Late Roman minis for a modest price, and I've recently based these up for use with the ancient rules I've been writing, and expect to publish this Autumn.

Here is the Legio Secunda Britannica (yes those shields are hand-painted):

And here are their supporting cavalry, the Honoriani Seniores (also from the British field army):

Sweet looking figures.
I have all ways like the Foundry Late Roman figures.
Fine painting.

Thanks chaps!

I usually collect today's larger 28's, but the Perry Late Romans are a classic range.

Nice!  Are these going to be at Partizan, or do you have other plans?

Hi James,

No these aren't the boys for Partizan; I am doing a whopping great Pydna with Keith and Adam from Aventine, Craig Davey and David Imrie (amongst others).

However I will have them in the car with me.  Are you about on the Saturday for the games with Scrivs?

Best, Simon

Very nice! I bought a whole pile of these in Foundry's last sale - must paint them at some point...

"A whopping great Pydna"..... ;)....I'm so glad we gamers understand each other!  Well, I look forward to seeing it.  Sadly not around Saturday day (just too hard to do gaming both days, first weekend back at work as well) but will hopefully see you Sat eve.

Cheers

James

Yes hope to see you!  I am gaming Friday, Saturday AND Sunday.  ;-)

Re Pydna, you'll see that I have taken a small inspiration from Keren...
