Title: Wrinkle's workbench
Post by: wrinklestiltskin on August 29, 2014, 07:50:08 AM
Hey Guys,

I backed the Wolsung kickstarter; previous to that I bought these two figures to see if I liked working with their miniatures. Being used to GW plastics, I didn't like working with Mantics restic/hard plastics. As I have minimal experience working with metal miniatures, I wanted to make sure I liked the medium. (Probably hard to imagine on the lead adventure forum :D )

The Micro art studio minatures are great! For me they made painting enjoyable again. To me painting is a chore, especially if there are tons of details and stuff. These miniatures have the right amount of details; are not cluttered with them, and the clothing has great texture to work with. But overall you can get them painted in a relative short amount of time.

These are Ash & Oak members, I pledged for a few more, but the majority of my pledge is going into the inventors club as I thought they were the most steampunk faction. So hopefully I can get cracking on those before the end of the year. Untill then I'll be concentration on some terrain.

Just managed to finish my A&O club before the new year. The butler is from another range, I need to get a proper one later on. But I want to get started with my inventors club and triads first.

Made this warband on looks, but I think rules wise it's ok. Mary, Sir Zach and the relative can boost eachother. The butler and bruiser provide protection. I don't think I've ever played anything this shooty in any game system.

Thank you for moving it here.

It is certainly worthy of its new home on this board.

Lovely stuff. :)

Roger that.

Those paint jobs REALLY sell those figures!

The lass is shameless, though.

Lol, not sure how to answer that one.  o_o

If I were to rate my current painting, I'd say I'm at the level I had after two to three years of painting. With a frequency of painting about three to four evenings a week. I read books and coolminiornot tutorials to get better at it, so ...... lol

Just have fun dude, the rest will come.

Beautiful brushwork, but those plaid pants are the bomb.  Well done.
