Love 'em all!
:-* :-*
-
Love the skincolour and the weathering particulary
-
Oo, nice. :D
-
Really cool. The darker and dustier tones really complement the mad-max'ish vibe of gorkamorka. A bit more post-apoc, a bit less goofy.
-
But Games Workshop no longer supports Gorkamorka, I didn't think you were allowed to play it anymore! ;)
But seriously, those are good looking figures ready for some good fun.

Gorkamorka is still alive, there are a lot off players who enjoy the game and if gw no longer supports the game it,s the best notice.
-
Love 'em
Very atmospheric
-
Is that the plastic battlewagon or the resin one?

Easy techniques, main colors are painted by airbrush in orks and vehicles, the weathering had been done with oils and pigments, easy work for a great results as you can see.
-
Wow! Nice :-* Must get my mutes done...Someday :)

I think you must have missed the satiric tone I'd hoped to convey with the winky face ;)
I was trying to make a comment on all the other gamers out there who complain they have to drop a set of rules because the publisher 'no longer supports them' whatever that means. It's not like you're getting security updates for your computer OS after all is it?

i can´t understand people who stop playing games which are no longer supported by the companies which created them o decide to out of print them.
¿why you don´t continue playing if rules and background are complete, they work well and miniatures are available (specially in gorkamorka) ?
gorkamorka is, by far,one of the best games from GW, people be in agreement that mordheim is probably the best, well, mordheim is directly inspirated in gorkamorka rules and campaign system.
GW is specialist in to destroy all their games in each update they do, so for me was a great notice when they decided to out of print all their specialist games, i´m happy playing blood bowl, and gorkamorka in this days without worrying about all the stupid decisions GW usually do about their game systems, their mad price increasing for the miniatures and the progressive lowering in point costs which make that you need double o triple amount of miniatures to play the same 1500 points battle you could play only 5 years ago and all of other stupid decisions GW do, so the best notice is to see that GW apply all their efforts to those stinky shit games which are Warhammer and Warhammer 40.000. :D :D
-
Exactly.
GW did some really good work with their other games like Gorkamorka, Mordheim and Epic 40K. Shame they've all been binned to focus on the big two.
-
Just thought I would mention that you have inspired (at least) three of us into putting together a Gorkamorka warband for next year.
Cant pay more of a compliment than that.

On the one hand I play a fair number of games that are not supported by their creators or games that leave much of the unit and fluff creation to the players. Even for the games I play that are "supported" it's often sporadic, so I see the value in playing unsupported games.
Still, I totally understand those who move on when a game becomes unsupported. Especially in games where fluff and background are vital and there is an active community supporting the game, it's exciting to see what the authors will do to expand the system, and those expansions drive much of the fan camaraderie around the game.
When the game becomes unsupported, you loose that unity. Players can of course continue to play, and write their own fluff/rules/scnearios/etc, but without those official additions to the cannon fluff/rules/etc that most all players of the game accept, there's much less for the wider community to coalesce around and it disappears and with it many of the fans of the game.
That said, for a game like Necromunda there's no reason not to keep playing. There's so much official and semi-official material published for it, that it would take many years of constant play to exhaust it all, and then there's quite a bit of very high quality fan material as well. The same holds true for Mordheim.
Gorkamorka is a bit of a harder sell, just because it's a bit more random of a game (as befits orks) and it didn't have nearly the support that Necromunda did. Still, it surely has enough (more than many current games to be sure) to be worthy of playing.

Thanks for explaining your painting techniques.
Gorkamorka is a great game. For me, as a direct result of when I came into the hobby, Orks will always be inextricably associated with the desert, due to gorkamorka.
I understand it was Andy Chambers who wrote it from the ground up, and whilst it has had many fans over the years, he always thought it had a number of issues which were resolved in Mordheim.
Still, Mordheim and Gorkamorka are about the bwest GW ever did (along with Battlefleet Gothic, though many diasgree with that...) and should and are still be played! I also have to admit I still only play 2nd edition 40K if at all....
-
Those are great, thanks for posting.
Gorkamorka produced the longest running GW campaign I ever played. We loved that goofy fun game.
-
Thats a great looking force. Thanks for sharing :)

The battlewagon looks a bit like mine; battered, bits missing and repainted at least three times! 8)

Great painting on those battlewagons. They rust and chipping is superb and the orks themselves are great too!
