Title: Victorian Props and scenery
Post by: thejammedgatling on August 17, 2008, 05:30:30 AM
I found these sites which looked to have a pretty wide selection of bits for those wanting to make their Victorian London extra real...

http://www.scalelink.co.uk/acatalog/Duncan_Models__O__scale___________RETAIL_ONLY_.html

http://www.scalelink.co.uk/acatalog/Scale_1_43___Gauge_O____Echelle_1_43__0___________.html

Not sure if you know all these already, but I found them great and am in the process of ordering a few bits to add in to my Victorian town project.

Well that's my first foray into the Horror pages and I'm starting to feel uncomfortable that someone is watching me... hair on back of neck rising...sense of impending doom...

I'm off back to where the lamps are well lit and there's a bobby or two..

There are some great items in that first link. Shame it says they only sell them to retailers.

According to their information on ordering:
'RETAIL ONLY' indicates that we are unable to offer traders a full trade discount on these items.

So from that it would seem that they are available. I havn't tried putting in an order yet myself.

Has anyone used any of the wagons or carts?

I was wondering if they might appear too large compared to the Lledo ones or any of the standard 25/28mm miniature carts & wagons.

As far as I know, they should be the same scale as the Lledo vehicles.  In Britain and Europe, 'O' scale is 1/43 while here in North America it's 1/48.  Most diecast models like Matchbox, Lledo, Corgi, etc are 1/43.  They will definitely appear larger than 25/28mm models.  You're looking at nearly 25% larger (if I did my math right).

Like the look of those A&B Road Engines! Not sure if it's a £45 like, though!
