Sometimes I see nice stuff but the tight-arse in me says "nah, you already have so much stuff you never use, spend this money on something more useful". Maybe some of you know this problem. So now we have this thread, to assure each other that we absolutely should get that stuff.

Let me start with that. Castle playset, reduced to 20 Euros. Will I ever game a siege? No! Will I ever paint it? Propably not. Do I have the room for it? Don't think so. But still a nice set for a good price. >:(

Looks very useful - you should buy it! lol lol
-
20€? Of course you buy it! :D
-
You're a madman if you don't buy it. Think of the savings! (Not the spending! ;)) Think of the fun you'll have playing on it! (Like you'll ever take it out of the box except to get a few snaps to sell it!)
My own baggage right there, but I think I'm not alone...
-
That doesn't belong in this thread...buy it immediately!
-
Buy That castle!
If it inspires you at all, know that I once bought a similar castle and painted it!
Now it only get's gamed on about once a year, and even then it's more of a set of walls for dividing a city into sections than a siege operation. But that's beside the point.
Buy it!

Basically anything from Kickstarter lol So many things I am waiting on that I bought that I shouldn't have that will be selling a whole lot of when it arrives. I should have asked myself this question, to buy or not to buy about these things.

HERESY !!!
I demand this thread gets locked by a Mod !
Before long we'll regain our sanity and start questioning our future purchases. Where will it all end ?
;)

Plus, in 20 years' time, it will still be MIB (Mint In Box), and it's value as an OOP collectible from a bygone age will surely ensure it's worth at least 30 Euros*. :D
*In your mind. No adjustment made for inflation. Will struggle to sell even for 15 Euro.

Indeed. Nice castle. I saw that a day or so ago on a second hand webshop for just 5 euro. But i really do not need it and can use the money for something else. 8)

I'd buy it, but then I bought three plastic trains that now belong to the kids.....

I spend about 6000 per year at the moment and I have for the last 6 Months been very strict.
1 unpainted army at a time, a bit of leeway for skirmish stuff, and I am buying what I want rather than whatever is the latest fashion.
The money I saved so far by being strict has meant I could afford...
A full set of the Ghostbusters rpg
1600 15 mm ACW
3 pieces of artwork
A large Traveller collection
60 Daleks
Battle Cry
All of this would have been on my credit card otherwise, and considered frivolous spending. but because I redefined my gaming paradigms Have become guilt free pleasures. Buy it, but try being more restrained elsewhere!

It was 35 euro, just sayin.....

bargain

yeah, but you need that!
I mean; you know you'll be doing gladiator games sooner or later (or maybe you already do :D ), and a colloseum is obviously required for that. Required I tell you!
As for me; most of my purchases over the past couple of years have been like that. I've only very recently bought some stuff with something resembling an actual plan and a purpose (updating my Space Crusade game into the 21st century).
Admittedly though; most of the impulse buys I do (ooh; look at that bargain! ::) ) are with this or that project in mind. It doesn't help that I have enough projects of wide enough variety that I can basically fit any purchase into one of them of course... lol

Confirmed, he repeatedly kicked my ass at Blood on the Sand last year. lol
For me the big kicker isn't even miniatures. I mean there you are actually buying something physical. I also own over 3500 PDF files of RPG's and war-games, clogging up a hard drive.
And that's not counting character sheets and quick reference stuff. Still, if my house burns down I still have those PDF's online. lol
