Title: My Pulp Alley Plot Points, Bystanders etc (added amazon villagers)
Post by: Katsuhiko JiNNai on 09 September 2014, 12:46:03 PM
Here 4 plot points I've painted for the african campaign (congo) of pulp alley I'm planning.
Some female african natives from the amazon tribe. I'm painting some males too, that I will use as backup or in a normal african village.
Soon I will include the pictures of other 5 plot points.

Thanks, here some tents I've painted. I've included some miniatures in the picture because the tents alone were boring ;)

These are brilliant.  Narrative games deserve decent objective models, great work.

Thanks. Yes I'm planning a campaign in Belgian Congo, 193X year. With my italian "legio prometheus" league & the "Baker expedition".
They are looking for the forgotten mythological city of Themyscira. But a tribe of female native warriors protect it and some dark skinned amazons with greek armors are inside the forgotten city lead from a green skinned queen-goddess. A cyclop submissive to the queen protect the secrets inside the forgotten city too.

Thanks. For the african skin I used GW rhinox hide as a base, a vash of agrax earthshade, hightlight of pure rhinox again, two-three highlights of rhinox mixed with white, and then again some little vashes of agrax earthshade.

Actually seem these miniatures are done in resin, but mine is in metal (I bought it some years ago).
the original model I've used for the native warrior was a sisterhood prisoner.
Front and back pictures are not enough? Do you need a picture in what angle?

Grazie Mille!!

I shall be on the look out for her, & her sister...

Your interpretation, & execution, is better, & far more interesting, than the factory one.

Forgive my idiocy, I hadn't scrolled right...

The only other picture I would really like is of her on MY table!!

Both fantastic miniatures, and useful both as potential League members and as plot points.

I have lots of dogs (they die every single game they appear in...) but only a pair of sabre-tooth tigers for cats. A panther or leopard seems like a good idea...

Here some members of Congo Belgian Force Publique during interwar (about 1933-1939) for my pulp alley campaign.
They should be fine as bystanders or maybe a league too.
I will include two more painted belgian officers soon.

After some time (I'm painting several oldhammer miniatures ;) ), here my next pulp alley work:
An african mud hut and a belgian female explorer (as a bystander, allied with my belgian force publique).
Probably I will do a bigger picture of the female explorer, meawhile here a small "diorama" ;)
I need comments about the african mud hut. Initially I wanted to do a thatched roof but have problems to do it, so I've done a mud roof. Do you like it? It could be correct? Maybe I should change something? The hut is really cheap, I've done it with two aluminum trays a cardstock roof with mud done with a paper handkerchief and glue and a sprig. Simple, fast and easy.

Great painting and fun imagination.  By now you should be anticipating that each new picture will result in someone asking who makes the pictured miniatures.    :)    For my part, I've always enjoyed seeing a variety of miniatures from a number of different companies based the same way and "working" together.  Great stuff.

I yet know the hinterlandminiatures, I considered their female askari for one of my pulp alley leagues (The "Bò cult) but I found and painted other miniatures.
