Post by: The Hooded Claw on 10 September 2014, 06:32:21 AM
Hey all,

If you love the tribal warriors of the Americas and the Pacific this new Kickstarter is a must see.

28mm miniatures representing all manner of warriors, heroes, and other characters from across the American continents and the Pacific islands are featured alongside some of the more memorable monsters and myths from those cultures.

Super interesting, although I'm not sure what I would do with the models. I think it would behoove the proprietor to show pictures of all the models for the sets and to have some info about the mythology or links to the folktales for the various creatures.  I'll keep my eye on it...

Did this fail to fund once before?

Really nice sculpts, especially the monsters. Have been looking for this type of thing for an Aztec force for Of Gods and Mortals...

Hope it gets some interest.

There is quite a bit of information about North American Pacific Northwest First Peoples on the web. I am biased I live there! As far as the the rest of the figures, you would be advised to look online for information about the relative region. The problem of course is that some information is rather vague, or hard to find as much of it is not written down, or is just now being written about.

I said I was biased, because I live in Washington state, grew up in Oregon, and was born in Western Canada (Alberta). My stomping grounds as a kid were the old growth leftovers from the logging companies. These are massive trees easily 6 feet thick and 80 feet high, with a wonderful aroma as well. The seas can moody and violent just as anywhere else, and the forests are VERY dark at night. Great and moody, very awe inspiring, and a perfect place to set a fantasy novel, although it has not been done based on the First Peoples who lived there. These figures could very well be a lifelong project for me.

Looks like it funded before but not massively, this seems to be a second one to try and get funds for the 'stretch goal' aims that didn't get reached last time. I'm in purely for the Uktena, not that impressed by the humans, especially at the price...

Oooh.  I like the Hawaiian warriors.  I don't think I've seen any others before.

What's up with the Aztec Space Marine?
