Hello,
after reading some of the Bran Mok Morn stories I am thinking about starting a Pict warband for SoBH or Saga. The picts in these stories aren't regular people but instead described as 'crooked' and 'stunted giants'. Also, they are fur-clad and primitively armed. Do you have any recommendatins for suitable miniatures?

Although they are 15mm Copplestone makes just what you are describing.

They are exactly what I am looking for. But I need them in 28mm.

There is a Neanderthal thread about somewhere that might have suitable figures in it...
-
The North Star Neanderthals would certainly work.

But they have been absent from North Stars website. No mention as to why that I can find.
Pulp figures makes Neanderthals:

and Copplestone's Cavemen might work, but they don't have that Bran Mac Mornish look

As for the lucid eye/Northstar neanderthals, Northstar for unknown reasons has discontinued the range, but it looks like it is being picked up by Arcane Scenery and Models (http://arcanesceneryandmodels.co.uk/). They are currently out of stock and thus not on their website while production is being relocated. I have been assured from Steve at Arcane that they will have them in stock in the future, hopefully within a few weeks. They also carry the bespoke copplestone cavemen under the label 'high adventure'.
Otherwise, you could find some more human-esque orcs and use those. Depends on how 'human' you want them to appear.

I'm looking for this loincloth-savages look the 15mm ones have. I thought about using the Hobbit goblins, but these look very degenerate.

How about the Games Workshop Lord of the Rings Wildmen of Druadan?

Copplestone's half orcs he did for Grenadier would be right on but they have too much armour.

otherwise savage orcs which are rare too.

Ooh.
And Mirliton still have 'em, half the price of these (http://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Mordor-Uruk-hai). A bit off-topic, but ta for the heads-up. :)

How about Northstar formorions

I adore those Copplestone half-orcs. Weapon choices are limited, but it's nothing a razor saw and the bits box can't fix.

And forlorn hope games have them as well Vermis if you are after them, you can buy them individually. I have a few.

I'm actually sort of surprised that there isn't something exactly like those 15mm Copplestone figures in 28mm already.
-
I've got all those Otherworld cavemen MIB if anyone wants to make a deal!

I was completely baffled when these came out "why!! why 15mm!!" I cried. Especially because Mark had promised war orcs for his (now discontinued-) 28mm fantasy range. :'(
Apart from the scale, the range is almost perfect...
