Title: MORE Amazing prizes to be won! Project Alchemy (a Wargaming Charity Fundraiser)
Post by: axiom on September 15, 2014, 08:35:51 AM
Wouldn't it be great if there was some way to get excited about the wargaming hobby in combination with raising cash for charity?

Well, actually, there is! Over the last 6 months myself and some others have been pulling together a simply amazing pool of prizes for a charity raffle in aid of the international childrens' charity, UNICEF.

We are launching with an initial pool of 15 prizes, with a further 15 being added over the course of the project. Here are just some of the fabulous prizes up for grabs:

Donations are made through JustGiving - the secure charitable donations platform (linked from the Project Alchemy website) using credit or debit card, or paypal. Every £1 donated to the project qualifies the donor to receive a raffle ticket to be entered into the draw (i.e. £5 donated = 5 tickets). The donation period runs until 9th November, after which the prize draw will be made.

Please donate generously!

Our current total is £673! As an incentive to donate, the prize pool gets bigger - five fantastic new prizes have just been added. A superb classic Iron Claw Space Pirate painted by Battlebrush Studios, artwork by Des Hanley and Roberto Cirillo, as well as some rather tasty miniatures. Here's a teaser, to see all the new prizes and for information on how to win them, visit the Project Alchemy website (http://project-alchemy.weebly.com/) or Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/Project-Alchemy-Raising-Cash-for-Unicef/881262778551333)

At roughly halfway through the fundraising period, we've broken the £1,000 total - a fantastic result and thanks to all who have donated to date. Don't forget, the more you donate, the more chances you have to win, as every £1 = 1 entry into the prize draw.

To help encourage more donations, we've added another 5 fantastic prizes to the pool for the draw:

Just 2 weeks to go before entries to the prize draw are closed on 9th November. Our current total is £1,265...we'd love to hit the £2,000 target, so if you haven't already donated, or can spare just a few ££ more, here's the final 5 prizes to try and tempt you!

Remember, every £1 donated = 1 entry to the prize draw - the more you donate, the more chances you have of winning something great in time for Christmas!

So close to the total now with nearly £1,500 donated in aid of UNICEF! Thanks to all of you who have delved into your pockets so far. Remember, you can only be entered into the prize draw with donations received by Sunday 9th November. Every £1 donated = 1 entry to the draw, so the more you donate, the more chances of snagging a prize you have.

Let's try and hit that £2,000 target!

Gift aid is automatically added on UK donations - you just need to check the box that asks if you want to Gift Aid the donation. And yes, you can pay via paypal - when Just Giving processes the donation, it asks for your preferred payment method (credit / debit / paypal) :)

Hi both, yes, Sunday 9th was counted as part of the draw. Apologies for the late reply.

The donation period has now come to an end and an amazing £2,240 raised. Thanks to everyone who found some cash to donate, and congratulations to all the prize winners.

I have a small confession to make: I took part, and was lucky enough to win Elric:

The photo is good, but it just doesn't do the paint job justice. I could never manage to equal that quality, but I'm happy to have this guy safe in a display cabinet.
And happy uo have contributed to the project too - congratulations and a big well done to the organizers.
