Title: 28mm US cops.
Post by: Ray Earle on September 21, 2014, 09:47:06 PM
Gents,

I'm after some modern US cops in 28mm. I'm aware of the Foundry and Tactical miniatures ranges, but are there any others out there?

Hasslefree has a miniature of a guy in cop uniform (short sleeves) with either a handgun+torchlight or shotgun.

There are one or two in Reaper's Chronoscope range too.

I haven't seen many who represent actual modern cops.  Most miniatures tend to be stuck in a 1980s-1990s feel/mood.  I'd be curious to see what people come up with though.  I know there seem to be a lot of UK police figures around.

I mixed Hasslefree's Ken in with the West Wind cops and it worked quite well.

You could also use the WGF Male survivors sprue to make a few cops if you have it.

Good suggestions gents. Thanks.

As Elbows suggests what I'm really looking for is modern era city cops, like the ones in the latest Batman movies (sorry, typing this reply from my phone so can't link to pictures). A sort of flat patrol cap and bomber jacket type?

I like the SWAT figures from the 'Fistful of Kung Fu' range by Northstar, just a shame the cops are noticeably Hong Kong (as they should be I suppose).

The ones from the Batman Miniatures game would fit the bill but aren't cheap. They also might be a bit larger than 28mm.

And there's the major drawbacks...  :(

And only two poses. You would have thought someone somewhere would have made some.  ???

Aye. Not keen on the M16's though. Slightly over-armed.  ;)

That's about right for the NYPD........

One more vote for the West Wind fellows. They don't have the bomber jacket, but the cap is close for NYPD and CPD cops.   Also, the range has some Detectives in Body armor that are great for NARC officers and such.

Come to think of it, most PD's are in fact over-armed. The Empress Miniatures' Delta figs are actually a good base for some SWAT teams. MRAP's are also a viable choice for vehicles.
