A collection of hundreds of new photos belong taken by a French officer was recently uncovered. The Telegraph has some samples above, and the series is very interesting with many behind-the-lines photos, being generally more about the men than about combat.

These were a rich find. This anniversary has brought out a lot of memories, my aunt told me a few weeks ago that my nan's twin brother had been killed in Gallipolli, this had never been mentioned in the family before.

I live in hope that some photos of the 9th Devons in November 1918 will come to light - I might see my grandad!
