Title: More Perry BIF for North America and elsewhere
Post by: Arthur on 30 September 2014, 09:40:01 PM
BIF'ing up the British presence in North America and enforcing the Queen's dominion over the rest of the world (they might even teach those pesky Maori a lesson or two - if they live to tell the tale, that is...)

Just when you thought that they had got tired with this range.......

I think those pretty hussars would have got shot to pieces by Custer's Wolverines. Assuming they found open ground to attempt a charge along the Canadian frontier to begin with.

Wow ... really nice!

I hope they do some gunners in the campaign uniforms, though, for my NZ Wars project.

:o :o :o :o :o This is marvellous! I think there might be an Anglo-French Intervention Force on it's way to southern Jutland, just in time to take part in the Second Schleswigian War!

Anyone got a link to a painting guide for the artillery crew?

This range is slowly getting to the point where I will consider buying some.  Not far to go.  Bit more Cavalry and Artillery.

And another personality figure for Sir Garnet, old chap! That goes without saying.

Mr Jimbibbly and Mr Rokurota, stop putting ideas into my head, does this mean I will have to buy a couple,
Looks like I will have to try and convert some of their plastic acw artillerymen

I wonder if we will see a Gatlin Gun in the future—Batoche, anyone?

IIRC, Batoche was in the 80's in the 2nd Riel Rebellion. But a gatling gun would be a great idea anyway...

Huevans—of course! What an embarrassing mistake on my part.  :?

I am more tempted than ever to raise me some Canadians and Fenians these days!

This is the Google search for the 2nd Riel Rebellion, incl some watercolour sketches of the battles. The Canadian infantry is wearing late 19th Century uniforms and the BIF range wouldn't be suitable.

Not at all. When I was a teenager, the Riel incidents were a well known bit of Canadiana and we were taught the details in high school. I doubt many others would know there were 2 rebellions.

Foundry or Mutineer Miniatures Indian Mutiny figures have figures in those headgear.  What a cracking vignette that would make.

I am guessing that in real life, those shakos had been thrown away and the redcoats were fighting in forage caps and fatigue coats - the way the Perry's do them.

And we were discussing Sir Garnet of late, I believe....
