From the Perry Facebook: (https://www.facebook.com/perryminiatures)
Here at last are more pics of the 'light cavalry' for the 1450-1500 period. Not all of the bits are shown here but they give you an idea of what is coming, i.e., the choice of mounted crossbow, mounted archers and hobilars/coustiliers plus one or two extra bits. There will be 12 new heads, although a couple of them look very similar in style to the previous ones, including a couple of particularly Germanic, Italian, Swiss and Swedish looking ones. There is no release date yet but the greens are 99.9 per cent finished and will be heading Renedra's way very soon.

Anyone ever notice that the Perrys are none to shabby at making toys?
I just spotted a protective covering on the crossbow there ... that may be the first time I've ever seen that. I like it, d'you know I do.

Richard is going to be happy!!

Indeed I am Jonas, especially as I provided the information and such for it:) You will see a WIP picture of it at my blog (http://dalauppror.blogspot.se/) later today or tomorrow, as soon as I have it ready...
-
Ooh they look good. They would make great bretonnian mounted squires too.
:D
-
Richard is going to be happy!!
Happy and sad.
So many wonderful models and new components. So little fecking time... :'( >:(
But yes, I am happy to see them :)
-
Richard is going to be happy!!
Not as happy as me, I've waited for a decent number of figures to cover all of these types of combatants in this era since I was about 18 (as opposed to the usual 1 or 2 packs per range)... with this box it all finally becomes a reality.
Sad I know but there it is. ;)

What can I say... awesome attention to detail. :D

Would it be unappreciative to say I'm already hoping for the Agincourt-period equivalents?
I'm guessing they're still just a twinkle in Michael and Alan's eyes right now. But it would be a logical extension of what they've done and what's on their work bench now.
-
Excellent news. I've been waiting on these a while. Hope they will be available in the plastic fairly soon.
-
Very nice indeed :-*
-
Apart from artillery you will be just about to game the whole period in excellent quality convertable plastic sculpts. Superb stuff and been waiting for this range in plastic to be fully finished for a very long time :) :) :) :-*
Just wish they had been about 25 years ago when i still had eyes to paint the detail i would love to be able to paint on them now :'(
Can see some of the new heads being great to mix in with the other sets and vice versa
-
Haven't yet been tempted by this era..... "Blasphemy!" Lol But these I really like.

Amen to both points DM :)

My comment earlier on Facebook was about releasing accessories such as mechanical legs...........these just shouted at me that they wanted to be some form of mad Warlock's retinue :D
-
This is getting annoying! I'm so close to just flogging my painted (about 10%) and unpainted (90%) WotR lead and starting afresh with the Perry plastics. The flexibility offered looks amazing. I love the details like the wrapped bow.
-
Amen to both points DM :)
+1, but the glasses getting better. ;)
-
Ohhh can`t wait to get them!!
-
Indeed very nice and usefull addition to the plastic kits from Perrys, the army just grow and grow...
I was told that the minis are finished and now it is down to fitting into Renedra's schedule, but should be early next year, according to Michael Perry... Salut 2015 maybe?
I just put up a picture I got from Michael of the "Swedish Onion shaped Kettle hat" (http://dalauppror.blogspot.se/2014/10/perry-wip-swedish-onion-kettle-hat.html) he managed to fit in to the Light cavalry sprue, so now you all can start up some Kalmar Union (http://dalauppror.blogspot.se/search/label/Kalmar%20Union%20War) projects ;)
Best regards Michael

Michael,
Bravo for sending Michael the info - thats a lovely kettlehat variant to have in the forthcoming boxset. Are you aware of any remaining helmet styles like that one in amy museums?
I'm very pleased with the head & helm variants that we've seen to date - very useful for my Burgundians and Swiss!
Am hoping for a pre-Salute release, as April feels a long winter away....
Cheers Simon.

Hi Simon !
Indeed hoping for pre-Salute release.
Sorry no i´m not aware of any remaining helmet styles like that one in museums here in Sweden, Just contemporary Churche wall paintings like the one in this pictures from churches in Sweden, all painted by Albertus Pictor during the later part of 15th century.

OOH, wonderful images Michael - thanks for sharing.

Glad you liked them Simon. Show typical armour from the time, used here in Sweden, polearms and spears, shields and also handguns, crossbows and still the use of bows as well the use of a staffsling !

The North Star FB page has a pic of a frame mock-up done by Renedra for the riders : interested parties may want to have a close look to see what the exact content of the box will be. Each sprue will feature four riders and enough arms to do four crossbowmen, four archers or four lancers/hobilars. Looks like each frame will also feature no fewer than twelve separate heads.

Looks lika a kitbashers dream. :D
-
I can see that the left over parts will allow people (me!) to make new poses for archers and crossbowmen walking with their weapons.
Also the sword and trumpet arms will be useful.
Here are some that I did in 2012 based on the existing parts.

Heck the spear arms will come in real useful to. :D
-

I count 13! :D
Nice conversions Mick.
Yes, looks like another exponential increase in the kitbashing possibilities.
:)
-
They're going to be very useful. :D
-
Very nice to see the frame, cant wait to get my hands on those, perfect for Kalmar union Shooters and Svenner.
I think the 13th head not are a head, but a helmet to add to the riders sadlepack, as the ropes seems to be....
-
I count 13! :D
You head counter you >:D
-
Are they ready yet? :D
