I've been painting up some battlefield clutter/objective pieces etc for two games coming up at BLAM next weekend.
First up is an 18pdr siege gun which will be used to sink the jolly boats carrying Captain Blood's Royal Navy sailors and marines in a British/Mexican mash up set it the early C19th century somewhere along the Mexico coastline >:D lol
The gun is by Mutineer Miniatures and comes with the barrel and stack of cannon balls. A very nice piece. Gabions from Oshiro Models.

The wagon may also get an outing in the Dorset Smugglers game (see Jimbibbly's Thread in the Workshop for details of the terrain) Along with the contraband below:

These are from a variety of different sources picked up over the years added to the lead pile and finally painted. Now back to painting the beach boards where Richards Sailors will be blown to bits. :D

Can you remember where the woven wine barrels and the big pottery jars came from? ;)

The wine barrels are from Front Rank:

The pottery jars I think are Skytrex 1/48th Railway model accessories. I am not sure whether they are still available.

Love that gun. THE CID

Nice pieces and neat paint jobs, I like them.

All excellent! I'm a sucker for all these little things.
Looking forward to an AAR Nick - sounds like a VERY interesting game.

Nice painted items Nick. :-* :-*
Richard, if you see this i can send my landing party to deal with those nasty mexicans (where are they??). ::)
My party is not well painted but they are already veterans (dealing with slave trade in north africa) so no problems rolling dices. :D
-
Looking wonderful, Senor Nico.
:-* :-*
And not a Kylie calendar in sight.
;D ;D

Those are all very lovely. I do like things like this on a table, the added atmosphere and interest more than repays the effort of painting them.
-
Ooh yes. love the wagon.
Not so much the big gun... :'(
If you sink my boats before they're even ashore, I shall be very >:( >:( >:(
;)

I totally agree! How did you get such a realistic effect with the wood, if I may ask?

Foundry Spearshaft triad paint over a very dark brown undercoat. It's quite time consuming as you paint the wood grain on with a very thin brush line st a time and build up the layers to get the desired effect.

Brilliant Nick! I can't wait to see you and Richards offerings next week!! :o :o :o :o

Shiny mate, shiny ;D

That timber Malamute is an absolute corker! It really does look well beeswaxed and aged, especially the gun cartridge. Superb, totesamazeballz. ;)
Good luck, May she shoot straight!
Cheers
Matt.
