After trawling through the lead and plastic mountain under our stairs I realised that I had an awful lot of Fantasy stuff sitting there doing bugger all so time to do something with it. A few bits of scenery to start with I think. After seeing Masons amazing Upsheet Creek I decided to take the plunge and base my buildings (not something I would normally do)

Blimey!
That is a bloody productive start to a project.
:o
Looking good, mate.
Really good.
:-* 8) :-*
It is fun making a small 'scene' out of each building, isnt it?
:D
-
That a vacuformed amera cottage? Looks good!
-
Indeed. Very productive. These look all very nice. Looking forward to more production ;-)
-
Cheers guys. Yes it's great fun making a little scene out of the buildings, really helps them come alive. And yes the cottage is an Amera vacuformed piece, picked up a load of different bits off them at Salute a few years ago and this is the first one I've done

I second these sentiments! Very nice start!
-
LOOKIN' GOOD! Basing makes quite a difference both with minis & terrain; put a mini/building/whatever in its proper environment...or improper for shock value...& you've made your creation a narrative piece. Keep up the FINE WORK!
-
Wow looking good!!!
-
Nice start to your project. Looking forward to seeing more.
Tip. Try taking the pictures with the light from the window from the side or from behind you.
-
very nice, can't wait to see your figures
-
I particularly like the tower house. The backlighting gives a nice atmosphere to the photos.
-
The next piece of scenery...........trees

Been having a good think and have decided that my new fantasy land is going to be called "Grymvayl" (Grimvale). What do you think of the name?
-
Nice name like. Love the buildings and forest as well very nice indeed
-
Beautiful scenery pieces. I love the path through the woods. I can't wait to see more.
-
Haven't had much time lately to get on with much so,I'm afraid, nothing new finished. Thought I'd post some WIP piccies though to keep myself motivated :)

This will be very good!! :)
-
Nice start on those buildings, mate.
Good to see someone actually doing something with them.
They will look great when you have finished them.
:-* :-*
I missed the update on the trees, they do look the dogs.
Oh, yes.

As for those figures that you are going to use, there are some great choices in there.
Loads of old classics.
Looking forward to getting some close-ups of those when they are finished.
:D :D
-
The Woods & W.I.P.s pieces are all SPLENDID. You have some WONDERFUL things done & on the way. Keep up the GREAT WORK!
I missed the update on the trees, they do look the dogs.
Oh, yes.
...that does sound like the perfect way to describe trees. WELL DONE, Mason!
-
Looks good! Where is the big beastman from? I need that today! :)
-
Lovely stuff :-*
-
nice!!!!
-
Thanks,chaps
Big Beastman came from a boardgame by Bandai called "Navia Dratp", had quite a few cool minis in it.
-
Nice work. That scenery is great!
-
Excellent work so far :)
-
Finally got a new piece finished. Welcome to the Grymvayl Emporium run by the influential and law abiding (yeah, right!) dwarf Mr Maurice Stoutbottom
(http://i1030.photobucket.com/albums/y368/bobble13/imagejpg2-4.jpg)
Due to several incidents with the local Swamp Dragon population who although not "bad" do have a seriously dodgy indigestion problem,Mr Stoutbottom decided to build his shop on a nicely raised stone foundation in which he keeps his stock to avoid it burning down again!
-
LOOKIN' GOOD! I never came up with a way to integrate those LOVELY Grendel pieces...GREAT idea. AND I LOVE the hoist. VERY WELL DONE!
-
Stunning work, mate.
Absolutely wonderful.
A story all of its own.

Funny, I didn't recognize him despite being a fan of that game and collecting all the figures. I saw him and thought, "Hey, he'd make a good Maseitai figure!"
Did you replace the haft of his weapon with brass rod? Navia Dratp figs are kinda bendy and weapons are seldom straight.
-
Thanks guys. Cheers for the kind words
Yeah,I did replace it with brass rod
-
pray tell , the source of the market pieces?
-
They are from the Scotia Grendel fantasy market set and great fun to paint up
-
Lovely work and what great looking factions!

Nice work on all the warbands.
Some great old skool classics in there mixed perfectly with some new stuff that I have not seen before.

A wonderful table, mate.
Full of character.
:-* :-*

All your creations, minis & terrain, look TERRIFIC. IMPRESSIVE WORK!
-
Just come across this thread - fantastic scenery, wonderful minis and a great theme. Looking forward to reading about the exploits (and more of their names!) of the various warbands in later threads.
-
+1 Don't know how I missed this thread. It's so damn cute (even the Undead).
-
Great work! The size and scale of each terrain piece of really impressive when viewed all together. Such a wonderful battlefield .... I'd never get bored with that!
